1. Your music fuses influences from flamenco, urban music, and Arabic sounds. How would you define your style, and what inspires you to mix these genres?
I think it all comes down to finding beauty in fusion. For me, blending different genres means creating stories with new colors.
I am a very creative person, and making music this way satisfies my artistic hunger. I enjoy taking elements from here and there. When I hear music that breaks away from the standard, it automatically catches my attention, and I suppose this kind of music is what inspires me.
2. You started in music at a very young age with the violin and guitar. How has your classical training influenced the way you compose and produce your music today?
It influences me a lot. I think my musical training gives me immense ease when creating. I think of something, and instantly, I know how to do it or how to make it sound the way I want it to, to convey what I feel.
The Conservatory, University, masterclasses, and all the hours I invested in my musical training have built an internal library for me, an infinite musical archive in my view. After all, I have studied music practically since I can remember, and my musical language is very broad. To me, composing is like speaking—it just comes naturally.

3. In 2023, you released Endiablá, a reinterpretation of the traditional El Redoble from Cáceres. What does this song mean to you, and how was the process of giving it a modern twist?
Who from Cáceres hasn't sung "Redoble, redoble" at school? This folk song is part of my roots, and I also cherish a beautiful memory of my grandmother singing it when I was younger.
I had been thinking about doing something with this song for years, and I’m very happy to have made it a reality. In the end, creating this jota together with Libra Loggia means becoming part of the history of Extremaduran music, and that was something I had wanted to check off my list for a long time.
4. Your latest work, LUCES, has a very immersive and atmospheric vibe. What was the inspiration behind this song, and what message did you want to convey?
Four and a half years ago, my little cousin, my Rosita, passed away. She was like a sister to me—we loved each other so much.
Behind LUCES lies the pain of grief transformed into unconditional love. The most beautiful songs I have written, the ones that carry that magical vibe—like AFRODITA—represent, through music, what I feel when I think of her.
It’s very hard, and at the same time, it's incredible how something so painful can give birth to such beautiful music. I suppose that after all the painful stages we go through with grief, what makes me feel better is making her part of my life and my project through the best thing I know how to do—music.
5. You’ve performed at festivals like Mallorca Live Festival. How does it feel to bring your music to a live audience and connect with them on stage?
That’s the most incredible experience of making music—when you look at the audience and feel like you are one, connected by something you created yourself. It’s amazing.
6. The music industry can be tough for independent artists. What have been the biggest challenges in your career, and how have you overcome them?
The biggest challenge is having the strength and determination not to listen to people who tell you what you should or shouldn't do. In that sense, I have always been very determined and confident. I know exactly who I am and what I want to convey through my music.
I don’t want to be like everyone else, and I don’t want to do what everyone else does. I don’t need to. Maybe it will take me longer to establish myself, but I’d rather take my time and stay true to myself than betray my principles or be swayed by others.

7. In addition to your solo career, you’ve worked with other artists and producers. How has your experience collaborating with Libra Loggia and other musicians been?
Working with other artists is always enriching. But my favorite artists and the ones I love working with the most are those who are truly passionate about music, who live for it. Musical pretense bores me.
8. If you had to choose a key moment in your career so far, what would it be and why?
Seeing my whole family singing, dancing, and crying with joy when I performed at WOMAD in 2023.
9. How do you see the evolution of Spanish music today, and where do you think your music fits within the scene?
There’s a bit of everything, but I stick with the artists who are creating cool things—there are so many of them.
I don’t know what space my music occupies. The only thing I know is that I’m doing what makes me happy and what I’ve always wanted to do since I was little. If my music influences, helps, or moves people, then that’s amazing.
10. For those who haven’t heard your music yet, which song would you recommend as a starting point and why?
Yallah Niña Yallah, Afrodita, and Brillito. They are the songs that best represent me today.
11. Tell us about Brillito. How did it come about, what makes it special, and what is its future in your music?
Brillito was born out of the desire to create something amazing, fun, and playful. In general, maybe because of my past experiences, I had previously released more intense or darker songs, and Brillito is the clear example of what Cecilia is like when she’s feeling good.

SPANISH INTREVIEW
No tengo necesidad.
