Bradley Zero Spins Culture, Rhythm, Community and Future Into Sound

+ MUSIC

Bradley Zero is more than a DJ — he’s a cultural architect.
From Peckham basements to global stages, he’s built a scene rooted in sound, soul and resistance.
Rhythm is his tool, but community is his legacy.

.

Bradley Zero, DJ, selector, founder of Rhythm Section International and mastermind behind one of the UK’s most influential underground labels, doesn’t preach from a pedestal — he lives inside the booth, the backrooms of Peckham, the beat itself. His sound doesn’t follow formulas — it burns.

His story begins in Leeds, a university town where music culture pulses through the underground. But it’s in South London that Bradley defined his mission: building a scene that is warmer, more inclusive, and radically eclectic. In 2014, he founded Rhythm Section International, not just a label but a platform that builds community.

His parties started in an unlicensed basement with no sound system, just raw energy and trust. No glamour, no gimmicks — just sweat and soul. “It’s not just about playing records,” he says. “It’s about holding a space, creating atmosphere, forming collective energy.” In that, he’s a master.

Beyond the booth, his influence is carved in brick. Jumbi, his Afro-Caribbean bar and music space, blends basslines with rum, dub with stew. A venue both cultural and deeply political in its simplicity: it gathers, uplifts, protects. In an era of rampant gentrification, holding cultural space is an act of resistance.

Bradley doesn’t move alone. He’s the product of sonic inheritance — his father, a jazz-loving vinyl collector, was his first rave. And he walks with a spirit of sharing. That’s why he created Future Proof, a mentorship program supporting underrepresented talent in the music industry. “The scene doesn’t survive unless you open the door,” he says. And he doesn’t just open them — he builds new ones.

His DJing is not about showy drops or ego — it’s about surgical selection. His sets tell stories across house, jazz, soul, broken beats, and recontextualized classics. His USB holds Nina Simone and tomorrow’s beats side by side. That unforgettable Boiler Room set with DJ EZ in 2012? Still a landmark. When he drops “Sinnerman” to close a night, it’s not for clout — it’s for elevation.

Don’t mistake his warmth for neutrality. Bradley Zero holds both aesthetic and political power. He resists homogeneity, rejects nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake, and crafts forward-thinking sonic spaces. The DJ as social architect. The selector as bridge builder.

Fashion, design, music — it all collapses gracefully in his universe. His style, always clean, always textured, acts as a visual manifesto. He doesn’t shout — he leaves a mark. In a world bloated with DJs chasing metrics, Bradley still plays for meaning.

And so, through vinyl, analog sound, and nights that feel like home, Bradley Zero emerges not just as a curator of rhythm but as a symbol of what a scene can become when built with intention, care, and courage. This isn’t revival — it’s evolution. And he’s got the needle exactly where it belongs.

Chatting with La Valentina

A rising Latin artist in Europe, she sees music as a way to exist and tell her story. Influenced by diverse genres like rap, salsa, and reggaeton, she blends sounds and languages with authenticity. Her deep connection to Colombia shapes her identity, and she dreams of living off her music and reaching international stages. She stands out for her honesty, resilience, and commitment to opening space for Latin music in France.

+ INTREVIEW

As a rising Latina artist in Europe, what led you to venture into music?
Since I was little, I’ve had a huge love for music. In my family, we listened to everything — salsa, rap, trap, reggaeton, rock or reggae. I remember Sundays at home, when songs by Hector Lavoe about heartbreak would play, or a French rapper telling his life story. The way of describing the world following an incredible melody or a strong beat always impressed me.
For me, it was like an evidence I couldn’t escape from. That’s why, later on, when I felt the need to tell my story and try to make sense of my reality, I started writing. It was a way for me to exist.

Your family emigrated when you were young. What role do they play in your growth as an artist in France?
My mother and brothers support me a lot in everything I’m doing. And for that I always feel very grateful.

In your music videos and concerts you highlight how important your country, Colombia, is to you. Is there any Latin American music that has influenced you since childhood?
So many. I couldn’t choose just one.
These are the 4 songs that have always been with me:
Quimbara – Celia Cruz, Johnny Pacheco
Latinoamérica – Calle 13, Toto La Momposina
Falsedades – TRES CORONAS
El Cantante – Hector Lavoe

How would you define your musical genre?
I think my musical genre reflects my way of listening to music. It’s very heteroclite.
A base of rap that turns into reggaeton sometimes, also goes through experimental trap and other times through super soft or “more basic” melodies.
But each of my songs speaks about the search for myself, about love and female empowerment, about life in general.
I’m constantly searching, failing, and trying new things that excite me — that’s why I wouldn’t be able to give it a particular genre. I’d say it depends on the moment and the project.

In previous interviews you mentioned that one of your favorite genres to create music is rap. What would you say sets you apart as an artist in the French rap scene?
I don’t know if I’m trying to stand out. What I really aspire to with my music is that you can feel the sincerity and the love with which I make it.

What was it like to be part of Nouvelle École on Netflix?
Really fun — very stressful, but very fun. It was a super impressive stage in my life.

We noticed that in your videos you mix several languages, but especially Spanish. Why did you choose it as the main language of your songs in a

French-speaking country?
In France, Latin music in Spanish still doesn’t have the reach it has in other countries. I’ve always wanted to help open that path, at my scale.
I think I also made the choice out of habit and culture.
At home we always spoke Spanish with my mother, and with my siblings a mix.

Have you faced any adversity in your path as an artist?
I think, like in any profession, music cannot escape the flaws of life: it reflects social dynamics and structures. Racism, economic issues, media favoritism…

To make music, you have to be able to invest in visuals, mixes, photos. Like any entrepreneurial venture, it requires a lot of sacrifice and investment — both financial and time. But those are sacrifices I chose to make, and that I now see as necessary investments to grow and grow my passion.

What would you like your fans to think of you as a singer and as a person?
What I’ve always looked for when listening to music is to travel into the world of the artists I listen to, feel my life reflected in their words, have fun or cry — and that’s what I want to be.
I want to be my fans’ safe place, the best party they could live, and someone they can listen to anytime — to scream or cry, feel melancholic or sexy.

Would you like to tour Latin America? Which countries?
UFFFFFF. Obviously <3
All across Latin America. haha

Envisioning your career in the long term, what is your goal as a singer? What dream would you like to achieve?
My goal is to live 100% off my music. Whether I’m listened to by 1 fan or 10 million, but in a consistent way. To be able to play on every possible stage.
I have a huge wishlist of goals I want to achieve, but I’m very superstitious, so I prefer to talk about them when they’re already done.

If you could collaborate with any artist of your choice right now, who would you choose?
I have big dreams haha. I’m a huge fan and I’d love to collaborate with this artist:
Nathy Peluso

What was it like to visit Colombia for the first time, especially in the context of BIME Bogotá?
A truly impressive experience. For the little girl I once was and the singer I want to become.
Getting to know my country for the first time was something almost metaphysical, and going there for a concert was an honor — it was simply two dreams coming true at the same time.

We heard you were signed by the Costa Futuro label in Barcelona. Would you like to work internationally or focus on France?
Of course, that’s something I aspire to. To be able to share my music in countries where people understand my lyrics would be a dream.

Lastly, what are three songs you have on repeat right now?
UFFFFF
ENVIDIA – NATHY PELUSO
LA NOCHE – JOE ARROYO, LA VERDAD
ROMPE – DADDY YANKEE

GOLIN Turns Sound Into Space, Body, and Living Feeling

+ MUSIC

In her new project sensor, GOLIN shifts from glitch-pop to an intimate, tactile soundscape.
The album seeks no hits, only deep, serpentine emotional vibrations.
Through inner landscapes and artistic collaborations, she redefines the future of sensorial pop.

.

impact and virality, GOLIN offers something else: silence, skin, inner vibration. Her new project, sensor —featured in the PW-Magazine article “Serpentine Rooms, Highways, Feelings”— marks a radical break from her previous work, a shift from glitch-pop frenzy to an expanded emotional landscape.

But make no mistake: this is not complacent minimalism. What GOLIN proposes is a new way of understanding sound — an immersive, sensorial, deeply physical experience. sensor isn’t something you simply listen to. You feel it. Like a highway at night. Like a damp room. Like an emotion you don’t yet have words for.

From the start, GOLIN has been a complex figure: part club-theatrical, part deconstructed J-pop, part vocal experimentation. Her aesthetic was abrasive, ironic, saturated with excess. But in this new work, all that implodes inward. The power doesn’t disappear — it transforms into resonance. There is no longer a need for noise. Now, there’s depth. Vibration. Echo.

In her own words: “I no longer want to shine. I want to touch.” And it shows. Every track on the album is a space: a “serpentine room,” an emotional curve. There are no hooks, no peaks. Just soft turns, synthesizer layers like skin, loops that breathe. This is music for the inner road — an album that doesn’t seek a destination, but the journey itself.

In her interview with PW, GOLIN speaks candidly about her creative evolution. She explains that leaving behind her previous aesthetic wasn’t a rebranding — it was a natural shedding. “I’m no longer interested in theatricality. I’m interested in space. In what vibrates when I say nothing.” That radical honesty doesn’t just come through — it defines the work.

And although sensor might seem far from the club circuit, it doesn’t let go of intensity. It just redirects it. There’s tension. There’s darkness. But it’s diluted in a kind of electronic water — almost cinematic. This isn’t an album to dance to. It’s an album that inhabits you. The kind of record you could hear in a gallery, or playing softly in the background of a silent runway show.

Visually, there’s also a clear shift. Where GOLIN once flirted with digital kitsch, now her image breathes restraint: blurred photos, unadorned gestures, organic tones. She no longer plays a character. She faces a landscape — one that’s internal, open, and mapless.

The album was shaped in collaboration with other artists from Europe’s contemporary scene — like Luki von der Gracht or Max Eulitz — placing GOLIN in a context where music is not a product, but a medium. Sensation, art, body, sound: everything merges. Everything collapses into a singular language.

The beauty of this project isn’t in its form, but in its intention. In a world that rewards volume, virality, and repetition, GOLIN chooses the whisper, the slowness, the tremor. She builds a space where feeling is more urgent than being heard. In that decision, there’s no nostalgia, no retro aesthetic — only future.

sensor is, in many ways, a timeless album. And GOLIN, instead of following the algorithm’s rhythm, builds her own tempo: intimate, deliberate, and powerful. From the margins, from the personal, from the serpentine. It is there where her voice —and her vision— sounds loudest.

Nina Battisti Rewrites French Pop with Pain, Humor, Piano

+ MUSIC

From classical piano to intimate electro-pop, Nina Battisti turns heartbreak and self-doubt into bold, melodic confessionals.
Raw, romantic, and red-lit — her debut EP is both spectacle and diary.
No mask, no filter — just chords, chaos, and clarity.

.

Some artists create from technique, others from ego. Nina Battisti creates because she has no choice. Born in Corsica, based in Paris, and raised on a diet of classical piano and heartbreak, she doesn’t sing to perform — she sings to survive. Her voice doesn’t try to impress. It tells you what you didn’t know you were feeling.

Trained in conservatory discipline — sheet music, Schumann, the works — Nina’s heart broke open when she discovered Juliette Armanet. Then, after a crushing breakup, she found her voice. “Manque d’amour gave me the push I needed,” she says. The result? An identity stitched in sound and silence.

In 2025, she released her debut EP, Le Cabaret des Pleurs — a bold, bruised, and oddly joyful collection of French pop meets lo-fi electro.

Each track feels like a love letter from the bathroom floor: romantic, insecure, poetic and a little absurd. The lyrics touch on body image, artistic comparison, self-worth and survival — not with despair, but with sly, self-aware humor. “I accept failure. I accept slowness. What matters is listening to myself,” she says. And she means it.

Live, Nina transforms small stages into red altars. At her Paris debut in Les Trois Baudets, she filled the room with heart-shaped balloons, intimate lighting, and her signature piano-vulnerability. Styled by her friend and fellow artist Inna, she wore a deep red outfit to match the EP’s mood: theatrical, honest, a little broken and very real. “Red made sense. It’s the color of my songs, my wounds, my whole vibe.”

She chooses collaborators by instinct. Whether opening acts like Déborah Leclercq or French Toast, or her creative team, Nina trusts chemistry over status. “I don’t feel like I’m someone important enough to ‘choose’ support acts. It’s a shared moment. A co-plateau.”

Her writing process? Chaotic. She never pens lyrics in advance. She sits at the piano, loops a few chords, and lets the emotions write themselves. Sometimes, a song’s born in 15 minutes. Other times, nothing happens for weeks. And that’s fine. The discipline of her classical training helps — she still studies Schubert and Schumann — but what drives her is intuition, not perfection.

“This EP is me. It’s my 2024, my start of 2025. It’s everything I’ve been through. If someone listens and feels less alone — that’s everything.”

Nina Battisti sings like someone who needs to, who doesn’t care for trends or polish. Her charm lies not in perfection, but in presence. In being the friend who jokes while crying. The performer who turns stage fright into stand-up. The songwriter who makes heartache wearable — and cool.

Forget the gloss. Nina is what happens when pain gets a piano and dares to be loud about it.

Chatting with CARO CAXI

Caro Caxi, a Spanish-British singer and songwriter, opens up about finding her voice after years writing for other artists. Her multicultural roots and fearless style shine through in both her music and visual identity. Confident and driven, she’s ready to take on global stages with authenticity and emotion.

+ INTREVIEW

At what moment did you feel that your voice — your true voice — was finally being heard?

I’ve always felt like I was being heard. Being in the studio with artists like Yendry, J Balvin and Ptazeta, and writing songs for their careers, made me feel like the world was listening to me through their voices. And now, by releasing my own music, I’m still being heard — but this time, through my own voice.

Has it been hard to find your place in an industry that often boxes people in by genre, language, or image?

No, I never felt like I belonged in just one box because of where I come from. Being from different cultures often meant I didn’t fully belong to just one — I’ve always been a mix. That’s why I never felt like I had to limit myself to one thing when it comes to music. My whole life I’ve felt like I was “from the world,” and I bring that same mindset into what I create.

After years writing for others, did it feel overwhelming to finally step forward and say: “This is me”?

No… actually, it was the opposite. All the time I’ve spent working behind the scenes on my own project has made me completely fearless and more than ready to show the world who CARO CAXI is. I’ve been wanting to release music for so long, and I’ve worked really hard to create songs that truly reflect who I am. So, when the time finally came to hit play on ‘Click’, there wasn’t even a hint of fear in my body.

What drives you the most when you create: a specific emotion, a personal story, or just a beat that makes you feel something?

I think it really depends on my mood that day when I sit down to write. I’ve been through a lot in life — growing up partly in South London, I’ve seen a lot. They say women only have one or two best friends in life, but I’m super lucky to have seven or eight. Hearing my friends’ life experiences also inspires me deeply. At the same time, there are moments in the creative process where I just vibe with the rhythm and let it flow.

Your Spanish, Indian, and London roots make you a powerful cultural bridge. How do you live that mix in your day-to-day life?

I grew up between Spain and a place in London called Brixton. Brixton is super multicultural and diverse. As a kid, I absorbed a lot of cultures by having friends from all over the world, and all those influences helped shape who I am today. The things I’ve lived and seen have made me a true lover of all kinds of cultures. I also love traveling and always try to carry a little piece of each place with me.

Do you feel like your generation is breaking down the walls between Latin, global, and urban music — and that you’re right in the middle of that wave?

Absolutely. I think Latin music is bigger than ever, with artists selling out stadiums worldwide, even in places where Spanish isn’t spoken. I feel super proud to see where it’s going, and I pay tribute to all the artists who came before me for opening the doors for those of us coming next.

Your style isn’t just fashion — it feels like a statement. What stories are you telling through what you wear?

I take a lot of pride in my style and my outfits. I love fashion! I don’t really follow trends unless I genuinely love certain pieces or styles. For me, how I dress is an extension of my personality. I’m naturally drawn to bold, colorful looks, cool accessories, prints, shapes, and contrasts. I’m a very happy and expressive person, and that totally shows in what I choose to wear.

Have you gone through a phase where your aesthetic changed completely because you were changing internally too?

I think the whole process of finding my sound as an artist has been the biggest turning point in discovering my aesthetic and personal style. I really do dress based on how I feel inside, and this time I’ve spent building my project has been so defining.

What do you secretly dream about when no one’s watching? Is there a goal you’re still scared to say out loud?

I would love to touch souls with my music. I’m not afraid to say that out loud. I want to inspire people through my confidence… I want people to love themselves the way I love how God made me. I believe He made each of us unique, and we should celebrate that every single day. We all have insecurities, but I know there are so many people who truly hate their own image — and I want to give them confidence and encourage them to love themselves.

If your 10-year-younger self could see you now, what do you think she’d say? And what would you tell her in return?

I think she’d ask me… “How did you cross borders and end up writing for artists like J Balvin, who we’ve always admired so much?” And I’d tell her… “Never lose faith. Give it everything you’ve got. Practice every day. Trust the process and enjoy every single moment — it will all make sense in the end.”

What creative phase are you in right now? Are you exploring new sounds or refining what already defines you?

I’m always evolving. I grow every day, experimenting with sounds and instruments. Right now, I’ve started playing violin in some of my tracks… maybe in a few months I’ll be playing more guitar! I don’t think I’ll ever stop exploring.

Your debut single was a strong start — but how do you imagine your next project? More experimental, more intimate, more danceable?

It’s going to move left and right. But the thing that’s going to tie everything together is my voice.

Is there any genre, language, or collaboration that intrigues you but you haven’t dared to try yet?

I would love to do a collaboration with Bad Bunny. I think it would be a truly amazing track.

What’s been inspiring you lately when you write: what you’re living, what you dream of, or what you’re still missing?

Definitely what I’m living in real time. I love pouring my feelings and experiences into music. My lyric notebook is basically my diary.

If we think of Caro Caxi two years from now, where do you imagine your music playing — big festivals, global playlists, a Tiny Desk?

I’d love to release a lot of amazing music, perform on global stages, do my own headline shows — and I’d seriously love to do a Tiny Desk. All with God’s help!

Dua Saleh Rewrites Identity, Sound, Power, Style, and Art

+ MUSIC

Sudanese-American artist Dua Saleh blends music, activism, fashion, and film into a bold, genre-defying voice. Their work challenges norms around gender, culture, and sound with poetic power and unapologetic presence. Dua isn’t following the future—they’re creating it.

.

When the industry grows predictable and sounds start to blur, Dua Saleh cuts through the static with elegance, intellect, and magnetic presence. They don’t just defy categories—they dismantle them. Poet, musician, activist, and actor, Dua isn’t entering the creative arena—they’re redesigning it from the inside out. Born in Sudan, raised in Minneapolis, and powered by a blend of queer identity, critical consciousness, and creative fire, Dua is not just arriving—they’re claiming the moment.

Their sonic aesthetic is as rebellious as it is refined. From the breakout EP Nūr to their critically acclaimed debut album I Should Call Them (2024), Dua has built a musical universe where rap, alt-pop, R&B, and electronic textures melt into an emotional collage. Their lyrics dive deep into toxic love, climate dread, gender tension, and Sudanese memory—each track a radical, poetic blueprint for what sound can mean.

But Dua’s artistry doesn’t stop at sound. On-screen, they made their debut as Cal Bowman in Netflix’s Sex Education—a nonbinary student navigating identity in a rigid school system. Far beyond symbolic casting, Cal is rendered with depth, defiance, and honesty. Dua doesn’t perform for applause—they perform to reflect. And in doing so, they expand what television can feel like when it truly sees us.

Offstage, Dua is grounded in activism. They’ve spoken loudly and clearly about systemic racism, prison abolition, and police violence. Their track “body cast” is a raw, arresting protest song whose proceeds went to Black Visions Collective. With Dua, the line between art and resistance is not just blurred—it’s erased.

And yes, let’s talk fashion. Dua’s style is genderless, elevated, and deeply intentional. Think: streetwear fused with African heritage, sculptural silhouettes, and a bold refusal to dilute self-expression. Every look is a visual manifesto. Every detail a confrontation. Dua wears power like fabric—fluid, sharp, unignorable.

The future? Dua isn’t waiting for it. They’re writing it—verse by verse, beat by beat. They don’t simply exist in cultural space—they reshape it, stretch it, and fill it with a new language where queerness, migration, memory, and rage don’t just survive—they sing.

Dua Saleh is not a rising star. They are a statement. If contemporary art has a face fierce enough to challenge everything with grace, voice, and vision, that face wears fluid makeup, a fearless gaze… and goes by the name Dua.

Who said the future had a shape?
The future sounds like Dua Saleh.

Sanguijuelas del Guadiana: Music, Memory, and Revolution From the Village

+ MUSIC

Sanguijuelas del Guadiana sings what many keep silent: the return home, the roots, and the raw emotion of feeling deeply. Their music blends celebration and wound, tradition and electronica, with a disarming honesty. They’re not just a band — they’re an emotional revolution rising from the rural heartland.

There’s music that entertains—and music that cuts through you. Sanguijuelas del Guadiana belongs to the latter. They’re more than a band: they’re a return home with wide-open eyes and a full heart. A raw, unfiltered song about what hurts, what connects, and what remains. Born in Casas de Don Pedro, a small village in Extremadura’s so-called “Siberia,” Carlos, Juan, and Víctor turned their own story—and that of many—into a project that doesn’t seek to escape rural life, but to claim it with pride.

Their debut album, "Revolá," is a collection of sung memories, loose emotions returning like warm, brutal gusts. Because a revolá isn’t just a wind—it’s that internal storm that hits you when you return to where you grew up and realize nothing’s changed… except you. It’s tenderness, dizziness, nostalgia, and love, all at once—born from lived experience.

The title track "Revolá" is a declaration of intent. It’s an embrace of contradictions—looking gently at what once hurt. The video, shot among empty pools, abandoned lots, and golden fields, is a visual gem that turns the everyday into the epic. It’s poetry from the block, from the village, from the roots.

Musically, Sanguijuelas blends what they love with who they are. There’s funk, electronica, rumba, pop, and suddenly a distorted pasodoble that makes you laugh, dance, and cry at the same time. It sounds like celebration—but also like mourning. Like sleepless nights and tight hugs. Like an August verbena still echoing in your chest once September hits.

But their message goes deeper than sound. Their philosophy is profoundly human and emotional. They speak openly about anxiety, the fear of the future, identity, the body, friendship, attachment. They do it from a place of honesty, never trying to prove anything. What they share is universal—but told from their truth. And you can feel that. Because it moves you.

In a music scene that often rewards image over substance, they bring presence. Where there’s artifice, they offer truth. They aren’t playing characters. They’re just three guys who looked themselves in the eye and chose to come back home—not as a failure, but as an act of love. They’ve turned what the industry often ignores—rural Spain, the provinces, the unglamorous—into a stage.

With their tour "Verbena en Vena", performances at WOMAD, and the blessing of being produced by Jorge González (Vetusta Morla), Sanguijuelas del Guadiana is on the rise. But their feet remain firmly planted in the soil that raised them.

Their revolution isn’t about tearing things down. It’s about rebuilding the intimate, celebrating the simple, and putting words to the lump in the throat so many carry in silence.

Sanguijuelas doesn’t shout. They whisper. And that whisper comes full of truth, emotion, and a beauty that doesn’t ask permission. It just enters. Like a revolá.

Faustyna Maciejczuk: Soft Power, Dreamy Grit, and Honest Pop

+ MUSIC

Faustyna Maciejczuk is a Polish singer-songwriter blending melancholic pop, airy production, and poetic lyrics. With violin roots and an eye for cinematic detail, her music feels intimate yet universally resonant. Her work reflects the quiet strength of a generation learning to feel everything—loudly, beautifully, and without apology.

There’s something quietly radical about Faustyna Maciejczuk. The Berlin-based, Polish-born artist has emerged as one of the most compelling voices in Europe’s rising alt-pop scene—not by being loud or overly experimental, but by doing something far more delicate: being emotionally honest. Across a growing discography of soft, melancholic bangers, Faustyna tells stories about love, identity, and vulnerability in ways that feel equal parts diary entry and cinematic dream.

She started with a violin in hand. Trained at a music school in Białystok, Faustyna first stepped into the world of classical performance before shifting into songwriting, production, and the indie-pop sphere. Her 2021 debut EP Przebudzenie (Polish for “Awakening”) announced her arrival: introspective, melodic, and quietly defiant. Released through FONOBO Label, the project flirted with synthpop and bedroom balladry while introducing a lyrical language rooted in personal growth.

In 2022, her full-length album baby blue—released via Kayax—marked a turning point. It was raw but polished, youthful but self-aware. The nine-track LP explored fear, emotional healing, and self-reclamation. Tracks like wiatr, po burzy, and the title song shimmer with soft beats and layered vocals, mixing violin textures with dreamy synths and intimate phrasing. It’s pop, but not the kind made for charts—it’s built for feeling, reflection, and slow dancing alone in your bedroom.

Faustyna doesn’t just sing—she shapes space. Her soundscapes are minimalist but rich, woven with subtle emotion. Her voice often hovers just above a whisper, drawing you in rather than demanding attention. She sings like she’s writing a letter no one else was supposed to read. But we do read it—and in doing so, we recognize ourselves.

She’s also deeply involved in her production and visuals, building an aesthetic that feels simultaneously fragile and intentional. Her collaborations with Polish producers like Dawid Pham have helped expand her sonic universe, but she always maintains creative control—her fingerprints are everywhere. With over 200k followers on Instagram, she curates a soft, expressive online presence that mirrors her music: moody, poetic, real.

Her most recent single, chcę cię więcej (2024), adds a slightly more upbeat tone while still exploring the ache of longing. It hints at an upcoming body of work that may lean into warmer, summer-tinged emotions—without sacrificing the lyrical depth fans have come to expect.

Whether performing on Polish TV shows or writing late at night while finishing musicology studies, Faustyna crafts songs that feel like pauses in a fast-moving world. She’s not chasing trends—she’s creating moments. And that’s her power.

Faustyna Maciejczuk is not just an artist to watch—she’s a mood, a message, and a mirror. And she’s only just getting started.

1tbsp’s Hotel Living: Dancefloor Intimacy Behind Closed Doors

+ MUSIC

Australian-born, Berlin-based producer 1tbsp releases Hotel Living, a six-track EP blending emotional electronica with house textures. The project is both restless and still—like staying in a city you don’t belong to, but don’t want to leave. In collaboration with Cherry Chola and Purient, it offers a soundtrack to the quiet in-between.

With Hotel Living, producer 1tbsp builds a sonic world that feels both anonymous and deeply personal—like the sterile softness of a freshly made hotel bed, or the freedom of dancing alone in a room you’ll check out of tomorrow. Released in June 2025, this six-track EP is an ode to transience, created in the liminal spaces between cities, continents, and emotional states.

1tbsp, the project of Australian artist Maxwell Byrne, has always thrived on mood. But this time, the mood feels more crystallized—stripped-down, yet immersive. Hotel Living extends the pulse and palette of 2023’s Megacity1000, but turns the volume down emotionally to explore new frequencies. There’s less urgency here, and more tension: the kind that simmers quietly between walls you don’t recognize as your own.

Opening with “Rush (Missing Out On Me),” a standout collaboration with Cherry Chola and Purient, the EP draws listeners into a swirl of breathy vocals, shuffling percussion, and the kind of subtle sonic details that reward headphone listening. The track feels like club music for the morning after—a gentle hangover of longing and fragmented memory.

That tone carries through the record. The percussion is crisp but never aggressive; the synths melt and bloom without fanfare. There’s a restraint here, but it doesn’t come off as minimalism—it’s more emotional than that. On tracks like “Seventeen” or “Written in Rain,” you feel the emotional texture of the production more than any obvious structure. The songs move like memories: incomplete, but weighted.

The EP was born out of 1tbsp’s hyper-curated process—he reportedly sketched hundreds of ideas, distilling them down into these six cuts. Influences range from early French house to microhouse and ambient pop, but it never sounds referential. Instead, Hotel Living feels like the kind of record that belongs in a room lit only by LED strips, playing from a phone speaker while someone dances alone, maybe crying.

Cherry Chola appears on half the tracks, adding a ghostlike humanity that elevates the EP’s emotional undercurrent. The vocals—intimate, occasionally half-whispered—don’t dominate the songs but breathe through them, blurring the line between person and production.

More than a record, Hotel Living is an atmosphere. It doesn’t demand attention—it invites you to dissolve into it. Like the quiet in a hotel hallway at 2am, it’s full of suggestion, but never reveals too much.

1tbsp is currently taking this atmosphere on tour, with dates across North America and Europe, including Electric Forest (June 20) and Madrid’s Sala Siroco (July 4). But the true magic of Hotel Living might always live behind a closed door, echoing off strange walls.

Courtesy Redefines Club Culture with Emotion, Architecture, and Sound

+ MUSIC

Courtesy merges electronic music, literature, and spatial design into a deeply emotional experience. Her sets feel like mixtapes for the soul, blending vulnerability with cinematic sound. More than a DJ, she is a curator of modern sonic intimacy.

In a universe where electronic music is often experienced as a journey of beats and bodies in motion, Courtesy emerges as a singular figure — poetic, conceptual, and deeply intentional — who dissolves the boundaries between sound, image, and literature. Born in Denmark and based in Berlin, this DJ, multidisciplinary artist, and cultural curator doesn’t just play music: she creates emotional architecture. Each set is a statement. Each event she curates is an extension of her artistic vision.

With an intellectual background that’s rare in the club world, Courtesy (real name: Najaaraq Vestbirk) moves fluidly between literary references, conceptual architecture, and sonic sensitivity. For her, music isn’t just something you hear — it’s something you visualize, walk through, inhabit. She speaks of literature as if it were structure, of clubs as poems built from immersive basslines and ethereal textures. The result of this hybrid perspective is a sound that’s as introspective as it is physical.

Her DJ sets — known for their emotional landscapes, ranging from controlled euphoria to luminous melancholy — have resonated in iconic venues like Berghain and across cult festivals worldwide. But beyond rhythm, she’s about narrative. She often compares her musical curation to creating personal mixtapes: intimate, coherent, and charged with intention. For Courtesy, a set isn’t just for dancing — it’s an experience that builds memory and provokes thought.

That same sensitivity informs her curatorial work. Through her label Kulør, she brings together sound artists, designers, and writers in spaces that defy traditional club structures — museums, galleries, and hybrid contexts where electronic culture and high art flow seamlessly together. In a world obsessed with hype, Courtesy chooses depth, slowness, and care. Her aesthetic embraces silence, delicate atmospheres, and a sonic palette that often feels cinematic.

Outside the dancefloor, her influence also resonates intellectually. She’s been invited to speak at cultural institutions about music, architecture, and feminism — proving that a DJ can be as much a thinker as a performer. In interviews, she openly explores topics like anxiety, the entertainment industry’s pressures, or emotional vulnerability — themes that quietly thread their way through her music selections.

In Courtesy’s universe, the club becomes ritual, sound becomes space, and the beat becomes a mode of thinking. It’s not just about playing tracks — it’s about translating states of being, composing mental landscapes, dancing with both head and heart.

Courtesy doesn’t seek to entertain — she seeks to move.
And in that pursuit, she’s become one of the most essential and elegant forces in global electronic music today.

Shygirl Is Redefining Pop With Power, Sex, and Chaos

+ MUSIC

Shygirl isn’t just an artist — she’s a movement.

Blending club culture, fashion, and raw emotion, she crafts soundtracks for liberation.

From NUXXE to Nymph, she’s reshaping the future of pop with fearless precision.

Blane Muise, better known as Shygirl, is anything but shy. Her stage name is pure irony, because if there’s one thing that defines this London-based artist, it’s boldness, hyper-aesthetic vision, and complete creative defiance. Singer, rapper, songwriter, DJ, visual muse, entrepreneur, and underground icon—Shygirl is a cultural force reshaping the boundaries of music, art, and fashion.

Born in South East London, Shygirl grew up immersed in clubs, broken beats, and a city that breathes identity. Her music channels that same energy: industrial, abrasive, sensual, and unapologetic.

She doesn’t whisper—she declares. She doesn’t conform—she redesigns.Through her collective and label NUXXE, founded with Sega Bodega and Coucou Chloe, she’s built an ecosystem where pop is deconstructed, twisted, and reborn with noir aesthetics, wild rhythms, and total creative freedom.

Her debut album, Nymph (2022), was critically acclaimed and nominated for the Mercury Prize. Shygirl doesn’t just sing or rap—she seduces, provokes, and tells stories of desire, vulnerability, power, and play. Her voice glides between whispery seduction and explosive verses over futuristic, genreless productions. Her sound is club, grime, hyperpop—it’s everything that comes after conventional pop.

But Shygirl’s artistry goes far beyond sound. Her visual identity and aesthetic vision are as sharp as her beats. In photoshoots, music videos, and editorials, she morphs into a shapeshifting creature—fashion icon and queer symbol. Her style fuses latex and lace, digital surrealism and Y2K glam, elegance and cybersexuality. She’s collaborated with experimental designers, inspired the likes of FKA twigs, SOPHIE, and Arca, and starred in campaigns for Fenty Beauty, where her visual power takes center stage.

On stage, she’s magnetic. Theatrical yet intimate. In interviews, she speaks with a calm that contrasts the chaos of her music. That duality—the balance between explosive energy and cerebral control—is what makes Shygirl so singular. She doesn’t need to fit into a genre, identity, or industry. She creates her own lane—and with each project, she expands it.

Her latest EP, Club Shy: Room 2 (2024), continues to break all the rules. Featuring collaborations with Empress Of and Erika de Casier, she transforms the concept of “club” into an emotional, sexual, and liberating space. It’s a statement: pop can be aggressive and beautiful, radical and polished, chaotic and perfectly engineered.

Shygirl isn’t just at the center of what’s cool—she’s defining it. With every beat, every selfie-turned-art-piece, every double-edged lyric, she reminds us that music shouldn’t just be heard—it should be felt, seen, questioned, and freed.

Domiziana: Hyperpop, Fierce Attitude, and Blazing Aesthetics

+ MUSIC

Domiziana is the new muse of European hyperpop, where sound and style collide with fearless energy.
With Sicilian roots and a Berlin soul, her art is pure visual and sonic fire.
From “Ohne Benzin” to Club Inferno, she’s redefining what it means to be a pop star today.

With a name that sounds mythical and an aesthetic that defies convention, Domiziana has emerged as a key figure in the European hyperpop movement.

This multidisciplinary artist—who needs no surname to make an impact—has burst onto the scene with a sound as explosive as it is sophisticated. Her work fuses the rave pulse of Berlin techno, the sensuality of the Mediterranean, and an artistic vision that goes beyond music: she offers a full aesthetic experience.

Born in Sicily and raised in Berlin, Domiziana is the perfect product of a cultural blend that draws from both South and North, from classical heritage to digital avant-garde. That duality defines her music and her image alike. In her videos and photo shoots, one can find echoes of mythology and fashion, cyberpunk and experimental cinema. Every appearance she makes feels like a living work of art, meticulously crafted down to the lighting and styling.

Her breakout moment came in 2022 with “Ohne Benzin”, a high-energy track driven by rave beats and pop hooks that went viral on TikTok and shot into the top 10 of the German charts. It became an anthem for a generation craving intensity, disruption, and a new kind of star—one closer to contemporary art than traditional pop.

But Domiziana is no fleeting phenomenon. Her 2024 EP “Club Inferno” proved she’s here to stay. Loaded with distorted synths, dramatic autotune, and lyrics that blend the confessional with the surreal, the project cemented her signature hyperpop sound. It also reaffirmed her strong visual identity: each music video, each cover, each outfit screams individuality. There are clear nods to the excess of the early 2000s, but filtered through a sensibility that is both modern and uniquely hers.

In an age of digital oversaturation, Domiziana achieves something rare: she’s everywhere without losing her mystique. Her social media presence—especially on Instagram—is curated like a moving art gallery. She looks like a futuristic editorial model but performs like a conceptual artist. This is more than music—it’s a style manifesto.

A source of inspiration for designers, photographers, and young visual creatives, Domiziana has positioned herself as an iconic figure in the new wave of European pop. Her art stands at the intersection of Berlin and Palermo, dancefloor and gallery, sound and fashion. And all of it is infused with a fierce, feminine, and unapologetically contemporary attitude.

In short, Domiziana doesn’t just sing—she embodies. Her universe is a stylized rave where Mediterranean sensibility meets digital modernity. She’s an artist who doesn’t follow trends; she sets them. And like any true muse, she leaves a mark on everything she touches.

Little Simz Leads Meltdown Festival’s Boldest Edition Yet

+ MUSIC

Meltdown Festival celebrates 30 groundbreaking years at Southbank Centre with Little Simz curating a powerful, genre-blurring lineup. From James Blake to Tiwa Savage, the festival mixes icons with emerging talent. With free events and radical vision, it’s London’s cultural must.

Get ready, London: Meltdown Festival turns 30 and it’s going big from June 12 to 22 at its iconic home, the Southbank Centre. Who’s running the show for this milestone edition? None other than Little Simz, the powerhouse British rapper, actress, and creative force, fresh off the release of her sixth studio album Lotus. Her mission: to shake the city with a bold, generationally defining vision.

The line-up? A masterclass in curating sound. We’re talking about street legend Mike Skinner opening the festival, and an epic finale by Simz + Chineke! Orchestra. Sprinkled in between are musical goldmines like James Blake, Tiwa Savage, Mahalia, Ghetts, Lola Young, and Kara Jackson. Plus, free-access events like Speak Easy and At Your Own Pace designed for London’s rising creative youth. Because yes, this festival belongs to the streets too.

Behind the scenes is the ever-brilliant Jane Beese, Southbank’s Head of Contemporary Music and the soul of Meltdown since 2000. In an exclusive Wonderland interview, she calls working with Simz “pure magic”: “Her vision is radical, bold, and full of truth. From day one, she made it clear: young people need to be front and centre.”

So, what makes Meltdown so special? Total creative freedom. Curators don’t just pick acts — they build worlds. Bowie once turned the foyer into an art gallery. Nile Rodgers brought Studio 54 energy to Southbank. Every year is a whole new constellation of sound, stories, and unexpected moments.

Now more than ever, the festival smashes barriers — between genres, generations, and ways of experiencing culture. Free programming takes centre stage, opening doors to audiences who crave something unfiltered and real. Beese calls it a “cultural playground” where surprise is the main event.

And even as the cost of living crisis hits hard, Meltdown refuses to become a luxury-only experience. The commitment is loud and clear: world-class quality, without leaving people out. “Balancing creative risk with financial sustainability is tough — but we’re doing it,” says Beese.

The best part? This is just the beginning. What’s next? A show-stopping cultural season called Dance Your Way Home, a tribute to dance floors and community, a takeover by Suede with an exclusive acoustic set, and a bold homage to the Harlem Renaissance led by Tomorrow’s Warriors.

In short: if you thought festivals were losing their edge, Meltdown 2025 is here to prove you wrong. Culture, art, street, future. All in one place.
Are you really gonna miss it?

Lamine Yamal Surprises Fans at Myke Towers’ Epic Barcelona Concert

+ MUSIC

Puerto Rican superstar Myke Towers made headlines once again as he reached the halfway point of his 2025 European tour with two consecutive sold-out shows at the iconic Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.

Over 32,000 fans filled the venue across both nights, turning the city into the epicenter of Latin urban music and reaffirming Towers’ status as one of the most influential figures in the global reggaeton and trap scene.

The concerts were not only marked by the artist’s electrifying stage presence and hit-filled setlist but also by the unexpected appearance of football sensation Lamine Yamal. The young FC Barcelona star drew huge cheers as he made a surprise visit to the event, wearing a striking chain with the emblem “YOUNG KINGZ.” The symbol represents a new generation of young talent who are making their mark on the world through passion, perseverance, and authenticity—values embodied by both Yamal and Towers.

Towers, who recently dropped the Deluxe edition of his acclaimed album LYKE MIIKE, launched his European tour earlier this spring with stops in major cities like Madrid, London, Zurich, Paris, Valencia, and Zaragoza. Most venues have already sold out, showing the powerful international draw of the Puerto Rican artist.

His Barcelona setlist featured a perfect blend of global chart-toppers and genre-defining classics. Fans sang along to his latest hits, such as “Adivino,” “Degenere,” and “También”—all from his bold and versatile album La Pantera Negra. He also delivered crowd favorites like “Diosa,” “Girl,” “La Falda,” and “Lala,” songs that have already earned a place in the modern reggaeton canon.

The energy at the Palau Sant Jordi was electric. From the moment the lights dimmed to the final beat drop, Myke Towers commanded the stage with a charisma and intensity few can match. The atmosphere was more than a concert—it was a full-blown celebration of culture, identity, and youth empowerment.

Adding to the excitement, Towers released a highly anticipated new single the same day: “Soleao,” a collaboration with Spanish artist Quevedo. The track explores a deeper, shared experience of coastal identity, using the sea as both metaphor and memory. It isn’t just a song for the moment; it’s a timeless anthem crafted to connect cultures through emotion and rhythm.

Myke Towers’ European tour is proving to be not just a musical triumph, but a cultural moment, bringing together fans from all walks of life and shining a spotlight on rising icons like Lamine Yamal. With explosive performances, surprise appearances, and an unshakable message of ambition and pride, Myke Towers is not just performing—he’s leading a movement.

As the tour continues, one thing is clear: wherever Towers goes, history is being made.

Additionally, Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus surprised the audience with an unexpected collaboration in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category, winning the award for their song II Most Wanted. This recognition underscored both artists' versatility and their ability to venture into new genres.

The gala also featured a tribute to Tony Bennett, who recently passed away, with a moving video tribute and a special performance by Michael Bublé and Andrea Bocelli, who performed some of his most iconic songs.

The 2025 Grammy Awards were a celebration of diversity and musical innovation. From the victories of established artists to the recognition of new talents, the ceremony reflected the evolution of the music industry and its ability to connect with audiences worldwide.

Sebastian Schub: From Busking to Breakout Success with Soulful, Intimate Songwriting

German-born singer-songwriter Sebastian Schub captivates with heartfelt lyrics, raw performances, and rising acclaim.

Sebastian Schub, a German-born singer-songwriter raised in London, has quickly emerged as a compelling new voice in the music world. His journey, marked by humble beginnings and a tenacious commitment to his craft, has set him on a path toward recognition that feels both organic and inevitable. Schub’s dedication to his artistry, paired with a refreshing approach to his career, has won him fans and critical acclaim alike. His latest single, “I Can’t Believe We Never Went Out Dancing,” cements his place as a unique and talented songwriter with an instinct for emotional resonance.

Schub’s musical journey began in Hamburg, where he was part of the Youth Opera Academy at the Hamburg Opera House from the age of five. This early exposure to classical music laid a technical foundation for his vocal ability. Simultaneously, his mother’s love for bands like The Police, Supertramp, and ACDC brought rock and pop influences into his life, offering a balanced and eclectic musical education. These dual exposures to the operatic and the contemporary played a crucial role in shaping Schub’s creative voice.

From an early age, it was clear that Schub had a gift for music, though he credits his family and environment for nurturing this talent. His mother, in particular, acted as a guide, much like the fictional character Mr. Schneebly from School of Rock, steering him away from classical rigidity and toward the dynamic world of rock and pop. These formative experiences gave Schub not only a broad appreciation for music but also a deep understanding of its emotional and performative elements.

Schub’s musical influences are as diverse as his upbringing. He cites Glen Hansard as a grounding force, whose records he turns to for solace and inspiration. Schub’s playlists are a reflection of his admiration for artists known for their emotional depth and authenticity, such as Hozier, Florence + The Machine, Jeff Buckley, Alabama Shakes, Adele, and Michael Kiwanuka. This rich tapestry of influences informs Schub’s sound, which is both cinematic and intimate.

Notably, growing up in Germany and later moving to London gave Schub a unique perspective on songwriting and lyrical composition. English, his second language, initially posed a challenge, but it also allowed him to approach lyrics with meticulous care. This dual cultural lens enriched his understanding of how music resonates across linguistic and cultural boundaries, emphasizing the importance of tone, energy, and sound over strict lyrical precision.

Rather than following the more conventional routes to fame, Schub chose a grassroots approach, focusing on busking and open mics. His journey began in London, where he performed in public spaces and grassroots venues, honing his craft and building his confidence as a performer. Schub’s first gigs were at Spiritual Bar in Camden, where he would sometimes perform four nights a week. These intimate, challenging performances taught him the importance of earning an audience’s attention—a lesson that continues to shape his approach to live shows.

Schub admits that his early performances were far from polished. However, his persistence paid off, and he gradually became a natural on stage. Playing to diverse, often rowdy crowds helped him refine his ability to connect with listeners. This commitment to learning through experience reflects his belief in the power of “diving into the deep end” and embracing the struggles that come with it.

Breakout Success with “Sing Like Madonna”

Schub’s first official release, “Sing Like Madonna,” marked a turning point in his career. The song’s cinematic and cascading sound struck a chord with listeners, amassing significant streaming numbers and critical acclaim. Schub describes the song as one of those rare moments when everything came together perfectly in the songwriting process. Its success validated his artistic approach and set the stage for further exploration of his musical identity.

Interestingly, Schub took his time releasing “Sing Like Madonna,” a decision he acknowledges was nerve-wracking. Despite fears that the delay might diminish interest, the song resonated deeply with audiences, proving that good music can transcend timing. Its success demonstrated Schub’s ability to create songs that are both deeply personal and widely relatable.

A New Chapter with “I Can’t Believe We Never Went Out Dancing”

Schub’s latest single, “I Can’t Believe We Never Went Out Dancing,” showcases a more stripped-back, piano-led sound that highlights his vocal and emotional depth. The song was recorded in Soho’s Dean Street Studios with producers Steve Fitzmaurice and Dave McCracken, emphasizing a raw, undiluted performance. Schub’s decision to keep the production minimal reflects his desire to let the song’s natural imperfections shine, adding to its authenticity and emotional impact.

Thematically, the track explores the regret of missed opportunities and the bittersweet longing that accompanies such reflections. It’s a song about the kind of “what-ifs” that keep you awake at night—a sentiment that resonates universally. Schub’s ability to capture such complex emotions in a simple yet powerful way underscores his talent as a songwriter.

Schub’s live performances are an extension of his authentic and unpretentious approach to music. Known for his engaging stage presence and candid interactions, he creates an intimate atmosphere that allows audiences to connect with him on a personal level. Schub values the magic of small, intimate shows, where the connection between artist and audience is palpable.

While Schub acknowledges that he is not a natural performer, he has worked hard to develop his stagecraft. Early performances in grassroots venues in London and Dublin provided invaluable experience, teaching him how to win over audiences and keep their attention. This commitment to growth and learning has made him a captivating live act, earning him a reputation for heartfelt and memorable performances.

As Schub looks to the future, his plans include releasing more music and continuing to build his live presence. The next year promises to be eventful, with new songs that explore a range of sonic and thematic territories. Schub’s commitment to his craft, coupled with his ability to connect with audiences on a deeply emotional level, suggests that his rise in the music world is only just beginning.

In a time when many artists are vying for attention in an oversaturated market, Sebastian Schub’s focus on authenticity and grassroots growth sets him apart. His journey from Hamburg to London, from busking on the streets to releasing widely acclaimed singles, is a testament to the power of perseverance and passion. With his evocative songwriting and compelling performances, Schub is poised to become a defining voice in contemporary music. Whether through intimate live shows or the release of deeply personal tracks, he continues to capture the hearts of fans and carve out his place in the industry.

Megan Thee Stallion and Flo Milli Shine in Bold, Horror-Themed “Roc Steady”

Megan Thee Stallion and Flo Milli deliver fierce energy in the Jennifer’s Body-inspired "Roc Steady" video. The track, blending horror aesthetics and sharp lyrics, is a standout from Megan's Act II album. Their collaboration redefines creativity in hip-hop with style and confidence.

Megan Thee Stallion and Flo Milli have captured the attention of the music world with their electrifying collaboration, "Roc Steady." A visual and auditory feast, the music video is a bold fusion of horror themes, cheerleading aesthetics, and commanding rap performances, firmly establishing itself as a standout in Megan’s Act II project. Set at the fictional Roc Steady High School, the storyline unfolds in a universe steeped in chaos and mystery. Headlines about student murders and unexplained bite marks provide a sinister backdrop as the two artists revel in their duality—bright, polished cheerleaders by day and lethal, bloodthirsty predators by night. The aesthetic is a clear nod to the 2009 cult classic film Jennifer’s Body, a movie celebrated for its fusion of feminine power and dark humor. Megan and Flo Milli embody this energy effortlessly, creating a music video that feels as much like a short film as a promotional visual.

The transformation of Megan and Flo Milli throughout the video is as striking as it is symbolic. Dressed in bright pink cheerleading uniforms, the pair exudes an almost saccharine sweetness before the darker, more menacing undertones of the video come to life. Their confidence radiates in every frame, with moments that flip traditional femininity on its head, using it as a weapon rather than a shield. Their victims—a series of hapless men—fall prey to the pair’s predatory prowess, leaving a trail of bloody chaos behind them. This juxtaposition of hyper-femininity and raw power is a recurring theme in Megan’s artistry and is brought to life with thrilling effect in this video.

Musically, "Roc Steady" is an irresistible blend of nostalgia and modern swagger. Sampling Ciara’s early 2000s hit “Goodies,” the track strikes a balance between homage and innovation. Megan’s verses are razor-sharp and unapologetically bold, delivering lines like, “Ain’t outdressin’ me on the top of a salad,” with a mix of wit and authority. Flo Milli complements this energy perfectly with her animated and playful delivery, making the track a dynamic interplay of their distinct styles. Together, their chemistry elevates "Roc Steady" into an anthem that is equal parts empowering and provocative.

The video’s release marks the second from Megan’s Act II deluxe album, a project that exemplifies her evolution as an artist. The 13-track album is a rich tapestry of influences, featuring collaborations with global heavyweights like BTS’ RM and K-pop group TWICE, alongside a mix of freestyles and tracks that highlight Megan’s lyrical dexterity. The album showcases Megan’s ability to adapt to different styles and genres, further cementing her status as one of hip-hop’s most versatile stars. From hard-hitting tracks to more playful and experimental songs, Act II is a testament to Megan’s ambition and artistry.

While Megan commands the spotlight with her unmatched charisma, Flo Milli’s contributions to "Roc Steady" and her personal journey add layers of relatability and intrigue to the project. The Alabama-born rapper has made waves in the industry with her vibrant personality and sharp lyrical skills, and her chemistry with Megan in the video is undeniable. Flo Milli recently confirmed her pregnancy in a candid and humorous social media post, a revelation that delighted her fans and added a personal dimension to her growing public persona. The news didn’t overshadow her performance but rather enhanced it, reflecting her resilience and ability to balance personal milestones with professional achievements.

The success of "Roc Steady" also speaks to the broader cultural impact of Megan and Flo Milli. Both artists have carved out unique spaces in the music industry, challenging norms and redefining what it means to be a female rapper in today’s landscape. Megan, often referred to as the “Hot Girl coach,” has become a symbol of empowerment, using her platform to inspire confidence and self-expression. Flo Milli, with her infectious energy and sharp wit, has quickly risen as one of hip-hop’s most promising talents. Together, their collaboration is a celebration of individuality and creative freedom.

Beyond its musical and visual appeal, "Roc Steady" serves as a reminder of the power of storytelling in music. The video’s cinematic quality, combined with its thematic depth, makes it more than just a promotional tool—it’s an artistic statement. Drawing from horror tropes and subverting traditional gender roles, Megan and Flo Milli create a narrative that is as compelling as it is entertaining. The video resonates not just because of its aesthetic appeal but because it taps into deeper themes of empowerment, revenge, and the reclamation of feminine power.

The release of "Roc Steady" is part of a larger moment in Megan Thee Stallion’s career. Following a string of high-profile collaborations, chart-topping hits, and award wins, Megan continues to push boundaries with her creativity and vision. Her ability to blend humor, grit, and glamour has set her apart as a true innovator in the music industry. Similarly, Flo Milli’s ascent has been marked by a refreshing authenticity and a willingness to take risks, making her a perfect collaborator for a project as bold and ambitious as this one.

As fans and critics alike continue to dissect and celebrate "Roc Steady," the video stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of hip-hop and the role of female artists in shaping its future. Megan Thee Stallion and Flo Milli have not only delivered a standout track but have also created a cultural moment that underscores their artistry and impact. Their partnership is a reminder of the power of collaboration and the magic that can happen when two creative forces come together to challenge expectations and redefine norms.

In a music industry that often emphasizes trends and conformity, Megan and Flo Milli’s "Roc Steady" is a breath of fresh air. It’s a bold, unapologetic statement of who they are as artists and as individuals. The video’s blend of horror-inspired visuals, cheeky humor, and raw power encapsulates everything fans have come to love about these two stars. With Megan’s Act II project continuing to make waves and Flo Milli’s career reaching new heights, "Roc Steady" is not just a highlight—it’s a defining moment in their journeys.

Band Aid Reunites for 40th Anniversary with 2024 Ultimate Mix of Iconic Charity Song

Band Aid commemorates its 40th anniversary with a re-recording of Do They Know It’s Christmas?. The 2024 Ultimate Mix blends original and updated vocals, raising awareness for East African famine relief. Despite its legacy, the project faces criticism for outdated narratives and controversies surrounding its portrayal of Africa.

Band Aid reconnects on its 40th anniversary for the re-recording of Do they know it's Christmas? 2024 Ultimate Mix, the charity song that raised £8 million for famine relief in Ethiopia in 1984, and which has aged as a holiday classic The musical union founded by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, members of The Boomtown Rats and Ultravox, respectively, returns to celebrate the anniversary of the original release with a new version of Do they know it's Christmas?, released 40 years ago to raise funds to fight hunger in Ethiopia. A great cause that later evolved into Live Aids, considered some of the best minutes in the history of live music, and christening July 13 as World Rock Day.

One of Band Aid’s main charms was the use of the leading British and Irish artists of the day, a proposition that ended up uniting 42 voices, including Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Culture Club, George Michael, Paul Young, Kool and the Gang, Sting, Bono and Adam Clayton, Phil Collins, Paul Weller and Bananarama, among others. 2014 followed a similar dynamic, updating its members to Chris Martin, U2 Bono’s young and older versions, Bastille, Ellie Goulding, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, One Direction… and featuring David Bowie’s voice ending the tune with “It would be wonderful if you could all buy copies of this record”.

However, this new version has evolved the dynamic followed up until now, reconstituting the band as usual, but mixing the voices of the original and 2014’s version. Which has provided a movie-like end result, in which Harry Styles, Robbie Williams, Sam Smith and George Michael sing in unison. AN ONGOING CONTROVERSY 40 YEARS ON In spite of being an undeniable success, Band Aid, and the song Do they know it's Christmas?, was mired in controversy even before its release.

Firstly because of the irony of having some of the world's wealthiest public figures asking for donations from the civilian population, and secondly because of the disdain towards the African population portrayed in the lyrics. The use of phrases such as Where nothing ever grows, no rain or river flows, implied that the African continent was a destructive place with no resources that only singning white men could save.

As a result, the 2014 version changed some of its verses, but continued to be bathed in controversy due to the inclusion of alarming lyrics about Ebola, broadening the stigmatization towards Africa and its population. 2024 was not to be outdone, and the cause has once again been tarnished. However, some of the artists involved have been the ones who have once again echoed the low morality that lies behind the project.

The main one has featured Ed Sheeran, whose voice was used in the 2014 version, and who has been reluctant to appear in the new version, stating that no one has requested his permission for the use of his voice, and that, if they had done so, he would have “politely declined”.

The British singer has admitted that, after 10 years, the narrative does not agree with his stance on the issue, and that he refuses not want to be associated with it. even though the damage is already done, he has kindly asked to be associated with Fuse ODG, a Ghanaian-British musician who has publicly come out against Band Aid, and which whose values he alligns with.

These are also associated with Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia’s statements, who claims that, while acknowledging the good intentions of the original 1984 version, finds it “frustrating to see the ancient history, culture, diversity and beauty of our nation reduced to pessimism”.

These accusations have been refuted by Bob Geldof, Band Aid’s founder, recalling that, over the past four decades, Band Aid has earned £150 million to fight famine in East Africa, stating that “this little pop song has kept millions of people alive. Why would Band Aid throw away feeding thousands of children who depend on us for food?”.

Cliftun’s "The Inevitable" Showcases Raw Talent, Bold Visuals, and Genre-Defying Artistry

Cliftun’s latest single, "The Inevitable," blends dramatic instrumentals with powerful lyricism and raw, minimalist visuals. Following his breakout hit "LANA," the Los Angeles-based artist redefines modern alternative music, solidifying his place as a bold, genre-defying storyteller.

Cliftun’s "The Inevitable": A Raw, Dynamic Exploration of Modern Music and Identity

Cliftun, the Los Angeles-based avant-garde artist, delivers another innovative masterpiece with his latest single, "The Inevitable." Known for his genre-defying sound that blends alternative pop, indie rock, and alternative rap, Cliftun continues to push creative boundaries while reflecting deeply on society and personal experiences. His new track, following the viral success of his breakout single "LANA," solidifies his place as a rising star in the alternative hip-hop scene.

"The Inevitable" is a sonic rollercoaster, featuring a dramatic fusion of frenzied violin strings and driving percussive beats. The track’s instrumental arrangement captures an electrifying energy, perfectly complementing Cliftun’s rapid-fire verses and enigmatic delivery. His ability to balance lyrical sharpness with emotional depth elevates the song into a work of art that transcends musical genres.

A significant aspect of "The Inevitable" is its bold, minimalist visuals. Shot entirely on an iPhone, the music video embraces raw authenticity, foregoing flashy production for monochrome simplicity. This stripped-down approach highlights Cliftun’s intense stage presence and charisma, as he commands attention through his performance alone. The deliberate choice of minimalism reflects Cliftun’s dedication to connecting with his audience on a more intimate, visceral level.

Thematically, "The Inevitable" explores the complex interplay of destiny, self-doubt, and perseverance. Cliftun’s lyrics delve into personal and societal struggles, delivering hard-hitting social commentary with poetic elegance. His ability to weave relatable narratives with an alternative edge speaks to his artistry and sets him apart in a crowded music industry.

The rising artist’s unique style draws comparisons to influential figures like Kid Cudi and Tyler, the Creator, but Cliftun’s distinctive approach ensures he remains in a category of his own. His fusion of genres defies easy classification, blending the rebellious spirit of punk rock with the introspective storytelling of alternative hip-hop. This dynamic combination resonates deeply with fans who crave music that challenges conventions.

Cliftun’s meteoric rise can be traced back to "LANA," a breakout indie pop anthem that gained viral traction and established him as an artist to watch. "LANA" showcased his knack for capturing universal emotions in a way that felt personal and fresh. With "The Inevitable," he builds on this foundation, demonstrating his evolution as an artist unafraid to tackle new sonic territories.

Musically, Cliftun’s growth is evident in the intricate layering of sounds and his fearless experimentation with tempo and tone. "The Inevitable" transitions seamlessly from high-energy verses to moments of introspection, creating a narrative journey within the track. This dynamic structure keeps listeners engaged, offering something new with every listen.

The visuals accompanying "The Inevitable" are a testament to Cliftun’s DIY ethos and creative vision. By choosing to shoot the video on an iPhone, he emphasizes authenticity and relatability over spectacle. The monochrome aesthetic, combined with his magnetic performance, creates an intimate viewing experience that feels both raw and cinematic. This approach aligns with Cliftun’s artistic philosophy, where storytelling and emotion take precedence over polished production.

Cliftun’s artistic journey reflects his commitment to growth and authenticity. His work consistently challenges norms, offering a fresh perspective on contemporary music and culture. "The Inevitable" encapsulates this ethos, serving as both a personal manifesto and a cultural critique. The track’s layered themes and innovative sound underscore his status as a trailblazer in the alternative music scene.

With his rapid ascent, Cliftun is not just a musician; he’s a storyteller and provocateur, redefining what it means to be an artist in today’s landscape. "The Inevitable" is more than just a song; it’s a statement of intent, signaling the arrival of an artist poised to make a lasting impact.

Beyoncé and Charli XCX Lead the 2025 Grammy Nominations in Multiple Categories

The 2025 Grammy nominations spotlight Beyoncé and Charli XCX as top contenders for the 67th Annual Ceremony. Celebrating significant achievements by women and historic nods, the nominees reflect a diverse and competitive year in music.

2025 GRAMMY NOMINATIONS Marking the start of “awards season”, the Grammy nominations have been announced this morning, including Beyoncé and Charli XCX as their main aspirants in the 67th Annual Ceremony. In the midst of the controversies and concerns over the recently revealed election results, new horizons open up for recognition among the music industry in the past year. A livestream broadcasted through the Grammy’s website and Youtube Channel has disclosed this year’s ceremony nominees, who will await for a possible victory and praise from the Record Academy next February 2nd.

The announcers list, revealed last Friday, included most of the 2024 winners, such as Victoria Mónet, who took home three gramophones last February, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, and Kylie Minogue, among others.

One of the main concerns for this edition’s nominations was the fair recognition of women, who have, by far, been this year’s main stage-leaders.

And they did not disappoint. Best New Artist award will be disputed between Benson Boone, Doechii, Khruangbin, RAYE, Shaboozey and Teddy Sweims, among others;
Nevertheless, and according to the participation bases and to their journeys as 2024’s main pop artists, the concluding deliberation should be held between Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter.

Album of the year (AOTY), the most treasured and valued award handed throughout the night, will be disputed between Charli XCX (brat), Chappell Roan (The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess), Sabrina Carpenter (Short n’ Sweet), Beyoncé (Cowboy Carter), Billie Eilish (Hit me Hard and Soft), André 3000 (New Blue Sun), Jacob Collier (Djesse Vol.4) and a classic contestant: Taylor Swift, who has officially become the first woman to earn seven AOTY nominations.

As this specific gramophone recognizes and praises songwriting, it is also one of the most controversial ones to decree, and the final decision often leaves out highly reproduced and pop culture significant albums. Not this year, however, as some of the most streamed and foolproof marketing strategies have officially paid off.

The announcement has revealed some historic upcoming events, including The Beatles’ nomination for Now and Then, the band's last nomination as a group. They will compete for Record Of The Year alongside Beyoncé, who is once again the gala’s most nominated artist, followed by Charli XCX, who will take on seven categories.

E-40 Honors Bay Area Legacy with Powerful 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards Performance

E-40 delivered an energetic performance at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, showcasing his Bay Area roots and iconic hits. The rapper's set celebrated his enduring influence in hip hop, paying tribute to his cultural and musical legacy.

E-40, one of the most influential figures in hip hop and a true cultural icon of the Bay Area, delivered an electrifying performance at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, held at Drai’s Beachclub and Nightclub in Las Vegas. The venue was an exciting setting for the veteran rapper, who took the audience on a journey through his illustrious career, showcasing his signature Bay Area sound, charisma, and a unique blend of slang that has become synonymous with his music. This performance was yet another testament to the rapper’s legendary status and ongoing influence in the music industry.

E-40, born Earl Stevens, has long been recognized as a cultural ambassador for the Bay Area, representing the region’s music, language, and lifestyle in the broader hip hop scene. His performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2024 was a reflection of this legacy, offering a comprehensive tour through his distinctive sound, which fuses elements of West Coast rap, funk, and hyphy—a genre he helped popularize in the early 2000s. Throughout the performance, E-40 demonstrated why he remains a vanguard in the hip hop world, captivating both the live audience and those watching from home.

The rapper’s deep connection to his hometown of Vallejo, California, was evident throughout the night. His performance was more than just a showcase of his hits; it was a tribute to the Bay Area culture that has shaped his career. E-40 has consistently used his platform to celebrate the unique musical and cultural identity of the Bay, and his BET performance was no different. From his choice of songs to his effortless engagement with the crowd, E-40 honored the Bay Area’s contribution to the world of hip hop while also reminding everyone why he remains one of the most innovative voices in the genre.

The Setlist: A Sonic Journey Through E-40's Discography

E-40 opened his performance with "Choices (Yup)," a 2014 single that quickly became a fan favorite due to its infectious call-and-response structure. The crowd immediately responded to the chant, creating an electric atmosphere that set the tone for the rest of his set. As the audience chanted back the "Yup" and "Nope" in perfect rhythm, E-40's command over the stage was evident. This song, which emphasizes decision-making and personal accountability, was a fitting opener, as it reflects E-40’s philosophy of self-reliance and authenticity, both of which have been central themes throughout his career.

From there, the performance picked up even more energy as E-40 launched into his guest verse from Lil Jon’s 2006 hit "Snap Yo Fingers." The song, a crunk anthem that dominated clubs and airwaves in the mid-2000s, brought a wave of nostalgia to the audience. E-40's collaboration with Lil Jon was a pivotal moment in his career, as it expanded his reach beyond the Bay Area and introduced his distinctive style to a broader national audience. His performance of "Snap Yo Fingers" served as a reminder of the cross-regional impact of his music, blending the crunk sound of the South with his Bay Area swagger.

E-40’s versatility shone through as he transitioned into "I Don’t F**k With You," a breakup anthem by Big Sean, where he delivered his iconic guest verse. This track, released in 2014, was another major hit for E-40, helping solidify his position as an artist who could remain relevant across multiple generations of hip hop fans. The song's brash, unapologetic tone perfectly aligns with E-40's persona, and the crowd’s enthusiastic reaction showed how much fans still appreciate his ability to deliver clever, memorable verses.

To close out his performance, E-40 brought the Bay Area hyphy movement to the forefront with "Tell Me When to Go," one of his most iconic songs. Released in 2006, the track helped define the hyphy era, a period marked by uptempo beats, energetic dance styles, and a rebellious, carefree spirit. The crowd erupted as the familiar opening notes of the song played, and E-40’s energy on stage was palpable as he commanded the audience to get hyped. "Tell Me When to Go" is more than just a party track—it’s a cultural anthem that captures the essence of Bay Area street culture, from the slang to the distinctive dance moves associated with hyphy.

The performance ended on a high note, with the crowd cheering and applauding as E-40 left the stage. His ability to seamlessly blend nostalgia with the raw energy of the hyphy movement was a perfect demonstration of why he continues to be such a beloved figure in the hip hop community. The performance was a celebration not only of his career but also of the Bay Area’s lasting influence on hip hop culture.

E-40’s performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2024 was more than just a concert—it was a continuation of the victory lap he’s been on in recent years. At 56, E-40 has not only maintained his relevance in a constantly evolving industry, but he’s also been receiving long-overdue recognition for his contributions to hip hop. His influence goes far beyond his music; as a cultural icon, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the identity of the Bay Area in the national and international consciousness.

One of the most significant moments in recent years came in 2022, when the city of Vallejo, California, honored E-40 by renaming a street after him. "E-40 Way" now stands in place of Magazine Street, the block where the rapper grew up and the setting for many of his songs. This recognition was a testament to the lasting impact E-40 has had on his community and the music world at large. As the rapper reflected on the honor, he shared his gratitude with his fans, writing on Instagram, “Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to have my childhood street in Vallejo named after me… Don’t ever give up on your dreams!”

The street renaming was a historic moment, not just for E-40, but for the entire city of Vallejo. It was a tangible symbol of the rapper’s journey from humble beginnings to global stardom, and it immortalized his connection to the city he has always proudly represented. In addition to the street renaming, E-40 was also awarded the key to the city of Vallejo, becoming only the second person in the city’s history to receive this honor. These accolades further cemented his status as a hometown hero and a musical legend.

E-40’s Cultural Impact: Beyond Music

While E-40’s music remains at the heart of his legacy, his influence extends far beyond the studio and stage. Over the years, he has become a successful entrepreneur, launching his own line of spirits, including his popular Earl Stevens Selections wine and a range of other alcoholic beverages. His ventures into the business world have been marked by the same creativity and work ethic that have defined his music career, and they have allowed him to build an empire that reaches beyond the world of hip hop.

E-40 has also been a mentor to many up-and-coming artists, particularly those from the Bay Area. His support for local talent has helped foster a thriving hip hop scene in the region, and his willingness to collaborate with younger artists has kept him connected to the next generation of musicians. By staying relevant and continuing to innovate, E-40 has ensured that his legacy will endure for years to come.

In addition to his business ventures and mentorship, E-40 is also known for his philanthropy. He has consistently given back to his community, supporting various charitable causes and using his platform to raise awareness for issues affecting the Bay Area. Whether through donations to local schools or providing resources to underserved communities, E-40 has remained committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

Elijah Blake's "elijah." Blends Classic R&B with Contemporary Sounds, Showcasing Emotional Depth

Elijah Blake’s latest album, "elijah.", merges classic R&B with modern influences, exploring themes of love, fame, and personal growth. The project highlights Blake’s rich vocals, emotional vulnerability, and polished production, solidifying his status as a leading R&B artist.

Elijah Blake, a Haitian-Dominican R&B sensation, has been captivating global audiences since his breakthrough in 2015 with the smash single "I Just Wanna...".

Since then, Blake has evolved into a household name in the R&B world, amassing millions of streams, collaborating with industry giants like Usher and Rihanna, and winning a Grammy Award for his contributions to music. With his distinctive vocal range and impressive songwriting skills, Blake has consistently set himself apart in an industry overflowing with talent. His latest project, "elijah.", released in August 2023, further solidifies his place among R&B's elite artists.

This album not only showcases his artistry at its finest but also represents a deeper exploration of his musical identity, blending classic R&B vibes with contemporary, genre-defying elements. This 1500-word analysis will delve into the intricacies of Blake’s newest album, exploring its themes, production, and how it reflects his evolution as an artist.

Video from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeBZOMlmthQ

Before diving into the specifics of "elijah.", it is important to appreciate the context in which Elijah Blake has crafted his latest masterpiece. Born Sean Fenton, Blake’s cultural roots in Haiti and the Dominican Republic have informed much of his sound, blending soulful melodies with diverse, multicultural influences. His first taste of mainstream success came with "I Just Wanna...", a track that featured Blake’s signature combination of smooth vocals and heartfelt, relatable lyrics. Over the years, his sound has evolved from straightforward R&B to something much more complex and genre-bending. He has ventured into elements of pop, soul, and even electronic music, all while maintaining the core emotional depth that has characterized his work.

Blake’s versatility and vocal prowess caught the attention of heavy hitters in the music industry. He has written for and collaborated with major artists, including Usher on the hit "Climax" and Rihanna on "No Love Allowed". These partnerships have helped shape his own approach to creating music, allowing him to learn from some of the best while also carving out a lane of his own. "elijah." represents the culmination of these experiences, as Blake steps into the spotlight not only as a collaborator but as a fully realized solo artist.

The Sound of "elijah.": Blending Tradition with Innovation

At its core, "elijah." is a deeply personal project, offering listeners a window into Blake’s soul through the medium of music. The album starts with "Rainberry Woods", a track that instantly draws the listener in with its delicate and atmospheric guitar strings. This intro sets the tone for the entire project, placing Blake’s velvety voice at the forefront, with production that complements rather than overwhelms his vocals. The gentle guitar notes in the background provide a haunting, ethereal quality that allows Blake’s vocal tone to shine.

"Rainberry Woods" is emblematic of the broader sound of the album—soulful, stripped-back in some moments, yet sonically rich and full in others. Blake strikes a balance between paying homage to classic R&B roots while integrating more modern, genre-defying sounds. Tracks like "Sacrifice" and "Sugarwater & Lime" are perfect examples of this. On "Sacrifice", Blake crafts a multi-layered instrumental arrangement that feels intricate and lush, contrasting the smoothness of his vocals. This tension between the instrumental complexity and the simplicity of the vocal melodies creates a sound that is both captivating and easy to get lost in.

"Sugarwater & Lime", on the other hand, takes a different approach. Here, Blake lets his voice flow effortlessly over the beat, creating a more laid-back, groove-oriented track. The lyrics on this song reflect on the difficulties of maintaining love, particularly when life’s challenges seem to conspire against romantic relationships. Blake’s ability to blend emotional vulnerability with sophisticated musicality is one of his strongest assets, and "Sugarwater & Lime" is a perfect showcase of this.

Themes and Lyrical Depth: Love, Loss, and Self-Reflection

One of the defining characteristics of "elijah." is its exploration of complex emotional landscapes. Throughout the album, Blake touches on themes of love, sacrifice, personal growth, and the difficulties of navigating relationships in the modern world. These are familiar themes in R&B, but what sets Blake apart is the rawness and honesty with which he approaches them.

Take "Father Abraham", for instance. This track represents the emotional core of the album, with Blake delving deep into personal and familial struggles. The song’s raw lyricism is a departure from some of the smoother, more polished tracks on the album, but this is precisely what gives it its emotional weight. Blake sings about the lessons passed down from his father and how they have shaped him as a man. The song's gospel-inspired undertones and Blake's impassioned delivery make "Father Abraham" one of the most powerful moments on the album. It leaves a lasting impact not only because of the emotional depth but also because of the vulnerability that Blake is willing to show. It’s a song that many listeners will likely relate to on a deeply personal level.

Blake’s willingness to explore difficult topics continues throughout the album. On tracks like "Daylight" and "Drowning in Gold", he sings about the pressures of fame and the weight of expectation, both external and internal. Fame is a double-edged sword, offering validation but also placing immense pressure on those who experience it. Blake grapples with these complexities in a way that feels sincere and grounded, never veering into self-pity but instead reflecting on the realities of his life with wisdom and maturity.

Love, as always, plays a significant role in Blake’s songwriting. However, in "elijah.", it is not treated as a simple, straightforward concept. Instead, Blake examines love from multiple angles—the joy and passion of new love, the difficulty of maintaining relationships in the face of external pressures, and the inevitable heartbreak that comes when things fall apart. "Ocean Deep" is one track where this is especially evident. Blake’s lyrics here are almost confessional, as he lays bare the pain of love lost. Yet, even in the sadness, there is a sense of acceptance, as though Blake understands that love and loss are both necessary parts of the human experience.

Production: A Polished and Dynamic Experience

The production on "elijah." is a masterclass in modern R&B. The album strikes a balance between minimalism and complexity, with some tracks featuring sparse instrumentation that allows Blake’s voice to take center stage, while others build to grand, multi-layered crescendos. Blake worked with a team of skilled producers to achieve this dynamic sound, including long-time collaborators and new voices who brought fresh perspectives to the project.

One of the standout production elements on the album is the use of live instrumentation. While many contemporary R&B albums lean heavily on electronic beats and synthesized sounds, Blake incorporates real instruments—guitars, pianos, strings—into many of the tracks on "elijah.". This gives the album a warm, organic feel that sets it apart from much of the music being released in today’s heavily digital landscape. "Rainberry Woods", for example, features acoustic guitar strings that evoke a sense of intimacy and immediacy, making the listener feel as though they are sitting in the room with Blake as he sings.

The production is also notable for its attention to detail. Tracks like "Sacrifice" and "Underwater" feature intricate layering of sounds that reward repeated listens. New elements reveal themselves upon each playthrough—whether it’s a subtle harmony tucked into the background or a slight shift in the percussion that changes the mood of the song. This level of craftsmanship is a testament to Blake’s commitment to creating a cohesive and immersive musical experience for his listeners.

Artistic Growth: A New Chapter for Elijah Blake

"elijah." represents a significant step forward for Elijah Blake as both an artist and a storyteller. While he has always been known for his vocal talent and songwriting ability, this album feels like the culmination of everything he has learned over the years. There is a sense of maturity and confidence in these songs that suggest Blake is fully in control of his artistic vision.

In many ways, "elijah." feels like a rebirth. It is both a continuation of the themes Blake has explored in his previous work and a departure from them. The album’s willingness to take risks—whether through its genre-blending sound, its deeply personal lyrics, or its dynamic production—speaks to Blake’s desire to push the boundaries of what R&B can be. At the same time, there is a deep respect for the traditions of the genre, and Blake pays homage to the greats who came before him, while still carving out a path that is uniquely his own.

No Guidnce Return with Emotional New Single 'Around Me' Exploring Loneliness

No Guidnce’s new single "Around Me" marks a shift towards emotional vulnerability, exploring themes of loneliness and hope. This introspective track showcases a more mature sound for the R&B group, following their successful Spicy EP. It signals the beginning of a new era in their music.

No Guidnce, the rising R&B group, has made a strong return with their new single "Around Me," following the success of their 2023 EP Spicy. Known for their soulful, pop-infused sound, the four-member group has quickly gained a large following, with Spicy making waves on streaming platforms and generating buzz across the music industry. Their infectious sound and heartfelt songwriting have earned them a reputation for creating joyful, uplifting tracks that resonate with listeners.

Since the release of Spicy, No Guidnce has performed a series of international shows, winning over audiences with their energetic and polished performances. After a successful tour, they returned to the U.S. to work on new material, aiming to evolve their sound and take their music in a new direction. The result of this creative period is "Around Me," a deeply personal and introspective track that marks a fresh chapter for the group.

"Around Me" is a departure from the more upbeat, joyful energy of their earlier work, moving instead towards emotional vulnerability and raw honesty. The track explores themes of loneliness and longing, reflecting on the universal feeling of watching those around you fall in love while you remain on the sidelines. The song's lyrics capture the complexity of this emotion, balancing feelings of isolation with a sense of hope that love will eventually come. It’s a strikingly open and introspective song, showing No Guidnce's willingness to tackle more mature and personal topics.

The band has expressed excitement about this new direction, with the members commenting that "Around Me" represents a significant turning point in their sound and approach to songwriting. They see the song as the beginning of a new era for the group, one in which they embrace emotional openness and explore more vulnerable themes in their music. Created during a transformative writing session in Los Angeles, the track marks a bold shift in their artistic journey.

Musically, "Around Me" stays true to No Guidnce's R&B roots, but it introduces a softer, more introspective sound that complements the emotional weight of the lyrics. The group's signature harmonies are still front and center, but the production is more stripped-back and intimate, allowing the raw emotion of the song to shine through. The result is one of the most honest and heartfelt tracks they’ve released to date, signaling a new level of maturity and depth in their music.

With "Around Me," No Guidnce is setting the stage for a new phase in their career, one that promises more introspective, emotionally driven music. The track not only showcases their growth as artists but also hints at what fans can expect from future releases. As the band themselves have hinted, this is just the beginning of a more vulnerable, reflective period for their music, and fans can look forward to more songs that explore the complexities of human emotion and relationships.

Jack Antonoff Announces Safe Recording Studios for LGBTQ+ Community

Jack Antonoff, renowned music producer, announced plans to create safe recording studios for the LGTBQ+ community. His project aims to provide inclusive creative spaces, helping marginalized artists thrive in the music industry. Inspired by his own artistic freedom, Antonoff highlights the lack of equal access for queer creators, urging collective action to build an affordable, accessible industry. This initiative follows in the footsteps of other artists, like ROSALÍA, who support similar causes.

JACK ANTONOFF ANNOUNCES THE CREATION OF LGTB+ SAFE RECORDING STUDIOS Jack Antonoff, known worldwide as one of the best producers of the 21st century, has announced that his new professional project will be the creation of recording studios focused on the safety of the LGTBIQ+ community.

Known for his role as the producer of some of the most successful projects of the last decade, and in the middle of his participation in Lana del Rey's new album “Lasso”, Jack Antonoff announced last Tuesday through an Instagram post that, as part of his career and using his resources and possibilities, he will take the lead in the building of spaces for vulnerable groups to embark on the artistic creation journey.

One they haven’t always been allowed to fully enjoy due to unfair social misconceptions. Using his own experience as an example of creative enjoyment and liberty, the leader of Bleachers mentioned that, despite his love and trajectory in home and clandestine studios, his true art was born thanks to the access to recording studios, which included infinite innovative possibilities that helped him grow as an individual and as an artist.

Based on this, he emphasized the unfairness of the discrimination imposed against minority groups in all areas, including the cultural field, which is ironically built off a high percentage of queer people who not only bring quality and diversity, but whom without the industry wouldn’t survive. Jack Antonoff is not, however, the first artist who has showed solidarity and raised awareness about the importance of equal opportunities in creative terms. And, especially, in music.

Others like ROSALÍA have already started building recording studios in places bathed in xenophobic and discriminatory stigma, such as Hospitalet de Llobregat, a slightly isolated neighborhood in Barcelona (Spain), but filled with talent that deserves to be recognized on a global scale. In addition, and in spite of being a long-term proposal, Antonoff has taken the opportunity to mention that this will be a joint project with anyone who wishes to offer their bit and contribute to the cause, inviting everyone to contact him to build an affordable and accessible industry.
