ARMINDA DA SILVA ON RAW BEAUTY, AI ART, AND FINDING HONESTY IN CHAOS

+ FASHION

By Tamia Berenice                                   26 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

South African graphic designer and illustrator Arminda da Silva opens up about her creative journey, where imperfection becomes beauty and discomfort transforms into strength. In this exclusive Gorila Spain interview, she reflects on how motherhood pushed her to embrace AI tools like Midjourney, balancing playfulness with experimentation. Inspired by folk art, outsider art, and even children’s drawings, her work resists polish to remain authentic and raw. From Johannesburg to global platforms, including the acclaimed PSYCHOPOMP! exhibition at the Roger Ballen Centre, Da Silva shares her challenges, inspirations, and ambitions—ultimately proving that art thrives in chaos as much as in order.

Where are you from and how would you describe yourself and your art ?
I’m Arminda da Silva, a graphic designer and illustrator based in Johannesburg, South Africa. My work sits in that in-between space, it’s not about being perfect or polished. I like creating images that feel a little raw, a little off, but still beautiful in their own way.

What art movement, period or artist influenced your work ?
I’ve always been inspired by folk art, outsider art, and even kids’ drawings—anything that feels honest and unpolished. I like when something makes you pause and look twice.

How did you decide to integrate AI as a tool in your art ?
When I became a mom in 2022, my creative time was suddenly very limited. Discovering Midjourney gave me a way to keep making. It was fast, playful, and freeing. It became a space where I could create without pressure.

What are the challenges that you faced as a local artist vs. a global artist?
Locally, AI art is still new and not always understood, so getting recognition can be tricky. That’s why being chosen for
PSYCHOPOMP! at the Roger Ballen Centre of Photography curated by Boris Eldagsen has been such an honour (on show till 19 October 2025). It shows there’s space here for experimental work. Globally, there’s more reach and opportunity, but it’s easy to get lost in the noise. The challenge is keeping your voice strong in both worlds.

If you hadn’t chosen art as your job, What other career path would you have taken?
Something visual or story-driven, for sure, maybe set design, visual effects or photography. Probably something where I still get to mess around with textures, weird visuals and storytelling.

What would you say that makes your art special?
I think it’s the way I lean into discomfort. I’m not afraid of things being a little unsettling, a little messy. That’s where I think the real beauty is.

If your art could talk, ¿What would it say about you?
It would probably say: “She’s curious about the shadows and not afraid to sit with them.”

Chaos or order?
Chaos, with just enough order to hold it together.

What would you consider more difficult, to begin a piece of art or decide it is finished?
Finishing, for sure. Starting is play. Deciding something is done, that’s the hard part.

What are the next steps in your career or a goal you would like to achieve?
Right now, I’m excited about showing my work in more physical spaces. Being part of PSYCHOPOMP! is such a big step, and I’d love to build on that. Whether it’s more group shows, collaborations, or eventually a solo exhibition.  I’m also making my art more accessible through prints, which you can find on
imaginethatprint.com and follow my IG page here.

Ashley Graham Returns to Milan With Power, Poise, and Purpose

+ FASHION

By Tamia Berenice                                   26 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

Ashley Graham’s return to Milan Fashion Week was less a comeback than a declaration. After a few seasons away, the 37-year-old model strode onto the Boss Spring/Summer 2026 runway on September 25 with the kind of authority that makes absence feel irrelevant. Dressed in a dark brown boatneck midi dress, its fluid bodice floating like a modern cape, Graham embodied a refined power—soft yet unmistakably commanding.

Her walk wasn’t simply about clothes. Graham’s presence carried the layered resonance of a woman who has long refused to let the industry define her. The mother of three, known for her candor about body image and representation, continues to use her platform to confront the standards that once excluded her.

Graham has stated many times that she does not approuve or like to talk about her body, pointing to the double standard that spares men from similar scrutiny. Yet Graham also recognizes the necessity of these conversations.

True to that ethos, her social media is a deliberate rejection of manufactured perfection. Instead of meticulously retouched images, she shares unfiltered snapshots—cellulite, stretch marks, back rolls included. For Graham, beauty lies not in erasing reality but in celebrating it. “I keep it real and raw constantly because I want people to know there are women with cellulite, with back fat, with stretch marks,” she has said, reclaiming words often used to diminish as markers of power.

That commitment to change extends beyond her own platforms. Last year, Graham opened up about her initial hesitation to participate in a Victoria’s Secret show, citing the brand’s long history of narrow ideals. Only after candid conversations with company leaders—and their assurances of lasting change—did she agree to walk.

On the Boss runway, that revolution felt tangible. Graham’s appearance wasn’t tokenistic; it was magnetic, a reminder that elegance doesn’t come in a single silhouette. Her stride fused glamour with groundedness, proving that a model can be both a muse and a movement.

Milan welcomed Ashley Graham back, but the truth is she never really left. Her influence stretches far beyond the catwalk, reshaping fashion’s future one unapologetic step at a time.

Rihanna Welcomes Baby Rocki, Fashion Dynasty Grows Stronger

+ CULTURE

By Tamia Berenice                                   26 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

Rihanna’s world expanded to greet the next fashionista of the century. The Fenty CEO superstar and A$AP Rocky welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Rocki Irish Mayers, on September 13, 2025. The news broke with an Instagram post, confirming that the couple’s growing family remains united by a single letter: R. A$AP’s birthname being Rakim, mother Riri, their two blessings RZA and Riot, and now Rocki, whose debut already feels like an event.

The pregnancy announcement itself was a classic Rihanna glamour masterclass. At the 2025 Met Gala—an evening dedicated to “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”—she revealed her bump beneath a black cropped wool jacket, a sculpting bustier bodysuit, and a pinstripe tailored skirt with a dramatic bustle, all by Marc Jacobs. The work of art was a mix between Old Hollywood and family reveal, a bold act only Rihanna can do.

Since that night, wherever the star posed a single foot, either walking on the street or walking in a fashion carpet, the singer’s maternity style has been a fashion staple of fearless dressing. In Belgium, she floated through the Smurfs premiere in a sheer baby-blue Chanel baby-doll set that felt equal parts ethereal and rebellious. In Los Angeles, she wrapped her silhouette in a chocolate-brown Saint Laurent fall 2025 gown while her sons RZA and Riot matched in custom Dior by Jonathan Anderson—a reminder that in this household, fashion is a family affair.

Today’s maternity wear style is being redefined by bold fashion choices that put on the side the limitations that the garments held in past years and Rihanna has been the leader of this new movement. “There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle,” she told Vogue back in 2022 during her first pregnancy. “I’m sorry—it’s too much fun to get dressed up. I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.” Thanks to her words and actions new moms have been proudly showing their changing bodies in a new fashion era of pregnancy.

Rocki’s arrival will without a doubt extend their parents legacy. A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s powerhouse has merged culture, fashion, style, music and love to catapult them to be one of Hollywood’s most desirable and admired relationships, they have become a unity.

As the world meets Rocki Irish Mayers, the world can have one thing for certain: the youngest member of the Rihanna-Rocky clan is already destined for the front row. If the past is any indicator, her baby photos won’t just break the internet—they’ll set the next trend.

Millie Bobby Brown Vaults Into Glory With Perfect

+ CULTURE

By Tamia Berenice                                   26 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

As Stranger Things prepares its final curtain call, Millie Bobby Brown is already plotting her next high-stakes move—and it’s nothing short of Olympic. Deadline reports that Brown is in final talks to star as gymnast Kerri Strug in Perfect, Gia Coppola’s upcoming biopic chronicling one of the most unforgettable moments in U.S. sports history.

Netflix is circling the project with the determination of a gold-medal contender, eyeing a Spring 2026 shoot once contracts are signed.

Written by Ronnie Sandhal, the film traces the pressure-cooker drama of the 1996 Atlanta Games, where Strug became an instant national icon. Despite a badly injured ankle, she landed a vault so flawless it sealed victory for the “Magnificent Seven,” the U.S. women’s gymnastics team that redefined what dominance looked like. The role demands grit, grace, and the kind of emotional range that could launch Brown from sci-fi superstardom to awards-season heavyweight.

Brown won’t just headline—she’ll also produce Perfect through her PMCA banner, partnering with Nik Bower of Riverstone Pictures and Thomas Benski of Magna Studios. It’s a strategic leap for the actress who first captured hearts as the telekinetic Eleven. While Hawkins prepares to close its gates, Brown is ensuring her own creative universe only expands.

For Netflix, Perfect strengthens a powerful partnership. The streamer is already home to Brown’s Enola Holmes franchise and her upcoming romantic dramedy Just Picture It with Gabriel LaBelle. Meanwhile, Stranger Things Season 5 will unspool as a three-part event: four episodes drop November 26, three more arrive December 25, and the grand finale lands on December 31—an end-of-year binge that promises fireworks.

Director Gia Coppola brings her own cool-toned vision to the vault. Fresh off the critical success of The Last Showgirl, which surprised TIFF audiences and earned Pamela Anderson unexpected awards buzz, Coppola has a track record of turning outsider stories into stylish, emotionally charged cinema. Her earlier films, Palo Alto and Mainstream, showcased a sharp eye for youth culture and quiet rebellion—qualities perfectly suited to Strug’s mix of vulnerability and steel.

Will Perfect follow the I, Tonya trajectory and vault Brown into Oscar conversations? The ingredients are all there: a real-life triumph, a director with indie credibility, and a star eager to prove she’s more than Netflix’s favorite supernatural teen. Whether or not the judges award a perfect ten, this is one landing the world will be watching.

Ashes and Roses: The comeback of Aichi Triennale

+ FASHION

By Tamia Berenice                                   25 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

This year’s Aichi Triennale arrives with new faces and a lot to say—a charged, global conversation disguised as an art exhibition. Titled A Time Between Ashes and Roses, the sixth edition of Japan’s largest recurring contemporary art event gathers roughly sixty artists and collectives from twenty-two countries across Nagoya, the industrial heartbeat of Aichi’s Prefecture. It’s a city where steel and concrete meet sudden sparks of tenderness, a fitting backdrop for an exhibition built on collision.

Curated by Hoor Al Qasimi, president and director of the Sharjah Art Foundation, the triennale questions our reality. Al Qasimi draws on a line from Syrian poet Adonis, whose words emerged from the political upheavals of 1967: “A time between ashes and roses is coming / When everything shall be extinguished / When everything shall begin again.” It’s a haunting prophecy and a rallying cry. Renewal, decay, and the precarious bloom of beauty shape the emotional terrain of this year’s show.

“Nature really comes into it,” Al Qasimi explains, pointing to the image of withered trees daring to blossom. Some of the installations that convey a must-see are “Unforgettable residues” by Rui Sasaki, “Between currents and bloom” by Mulyana, “Photographs with flags” by Mohammed Kazem and “Sky revolution” by Bassim Al Shacker, among many magnificent others.

Rather than offering comfort, A Time Between Ashes and Roses thrives on contradiction. Visitors move between installations that seduce with color and sound, only to reveal deeper fractures beneath the surface. It’s an exhibition that demands presence: a space where art becomes both refuge and political resistance.

In a world spinning with crises, the Aichi Triennale offers no tidy answers. Instead, it gives us a moment between—the ashes of what has burned and the roses of what might still bloom. This is art as an act of defiance, a reminder that even in the darkest seasons, something alive is always reaching for the light.

Dark Magic Reimagined: Could Lord Voldemort Be a Woman?

+ FASHION

By Tamia Berenice                                   25 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

The Dark Lord may be about to get a radical makeover. Rumors swirling across social media suggest that HBO’s new Harry Potter series is auditioning both men and women for the role of Voldemort, opening the door to a first-ever female incarnation of the wizarding world’s most feared villain. The source of the buzz is entertainment insider DanielRPK, whose post on X (formerly Twitter) sent fandom into instant meltdown.

The decision has been heavily criticized in a matter of a few hours. Ralph Fiennes defined the role between 2005 and 2011 leaving an unforgettable trace, following earlier portrayals by Richard Bremmer, Christian Coulson, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, and Frank Dillane as various stages of Tom Riddle’s dark evolution. Reimagining such an iconic character is risky enough; swapping genders raises the stakes even higher.

Critics dismiss the idea as a needless “progressive renovation,” fearing it could betray the essence of J.K. Rowling’s creation. Some even called for legal action to protect the franchise’s legacy and others began public signings to prevent the casting from happening. Even if it’s known that a series owns legal rights and holds the power to make changes, to contradict the principal idea of a character that has such importance in the saga will not be taken lightly.

Nonetheless, a small--maybe growing– group of fans is intrigued by the possibilities a female Voldemort could bring: fresh dynamics of menace, unexpected depth, and a chance to challenge old archetypes. After all, the magic of Harry Potter has always thrived on reinvention and the unexpected.

Regardless of the debate, the series is already a reality, poised to become one of the decade’s major streaming events.

Slated for a 2027 debut on HBO, the production has confirmed a new generation of witches and wizards. Eleven-year-old Dominic McLaughlin will don the lightning scar as Harry Potter, with Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Among the adults, John Lithgow steps in as Dumbledore, Janet McTeer takes over as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu becomes the brooding Snape, and Nick Frost lumbers into Hagrid’s boots. In a nostalgic touch, Warwick Davis reprises his role as Professor Flitwick, bringing past and present together.

Whether Voldemort’s cast outcome, lady or lord, one thing is certain: the world will be watching. Magic loves a controversy, and this one promises to keep the wizarding conversation spellbound until opening night.

Ten years can feel like a lifetime in music, but Mac Miller’s GO:OD AM still lands with the freshness of a sunrise. Released on September 18, 2015, the Pittsburgh rapper’s third album—and his first for a major label—marked a pivot toward clarity and light. Now, a decade later, his estate commemorates the anniversary with a short film that captures the energy of an artist on the edge of reinvention.

The 15-minute documentary, GO:OD AM (Time Flies, Try to Catch It), offers more than nostalgia. Directed by Sam Balaban—who previously shot Mac’s “Inertia” freestyle and the Making Faces short—the film dives into the creative headspace of a musician determined to breathe again. “A lot of the music I’ve done recently was a little darker and sad. I wanted this album to kinda be a departure from that and feel confident and positive.” Mac says in archival footage. His words framed GO:OD AM as both escape and arrival.

Balaban threads rare studio moments with reflections from the people who knew Mac’s artistry best. Engineer Josh Berg recalls the meticulous layering that gave the record its expansive sound. Manager Christian Clancy speaks to the leap of faith required for a major-label debut. Visual collaborator Ian Wolfson—better known to fans as Rex Arrow—shares memories of building a world around the music’s radiant shift. Close friend and hypeman Quentin Cuff adds an emotional pulse, grounding the film in the camaraderie that fueled Mac’s ascent.

For listeners, GO:OD AM signaled more than a label upgrade. It foreshadowed the fluid experimentation of The Divine Feminine, Swimming, and Circles, albums that would stretch hip-hop’s emotional vocabulary while tracing Mac’s own evolution. The documentary lingers on that crossroads: the moment when darkness loosened its grip, if only for a while, and possibility felt wide open.

Mac Miller died on September 7, 2018, at just 26, a loss that still echoes through music and culture. Watching him in this film—grinning in the studio, plotting new horizons—carries a bittersweet charge. GO:OD AM remains a testament to resilience, a bright chapter that refuses to fade.

Ten years on, the album’s optimism feels both timeless and urgent. GO:OD AM (Time Flies, Try to Catch It) doesn’t mourn so much as celebrate: a reminder that even in a brief life, the right song can stretch time, letting us catch a piece of forever.

Sprayground Avant-Garde Runway Ignites London Fashion Week

+ FASHION

By Tamia Berenice                                   24 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

London Fashion Week SS26 didn’t just open—it detonated. On September 18, cult New York streetwear powerhouse Sprayground marked its 15th anniversary with a one-off London takeover that felt less like a runway show and more like a fashion uprising. Founder and creative director David BenDavid chose the UK capital over the brand’s usual New York stomping ground, declaring the night “a cultural statement.” London, he explained, embodies fearless self-expression, and Sprayground came to match that energy watt for watt.

The spectacle began with a jolt: contemporary dancers and drummers thundered through the space before the first model—musician and content creative director Sandflower—strode out in a sculptural black-and-white look. From that moment, the night belonged to Sprayground’s wild imagination. Sharks, the brand’s signature emblem, prowled across backpacks and prints in endless reinventions. Teddy bears clung to jackets in surreal 3D clusters. One suit appeared to be stitched entirely from dollar bills. Ballooned sleeves swelled to cartoonish proportions, while shoes climbed to metallic, sky-high platforms that demanded sideways exits from the catwalk.

Supermodel Leomie Anderson delivered a commanding finale, but the casting also celebrated inclusivity, with older models and boundary-breaking performers including Phoenix Brown, Jack Fox, Virginia Bates, and Roxy Horner owning the stage. Hair and makeup matched the anarchy: slicked-back crowns met neon spikes of green and pink, zigzag face paint danced alongside Joker-red lips, and no two faces mirrored the next.

Sprayground didn’t stop at spectacle—it teased the future. Golden suitcases hinted at upcoming collaborations with Porsche and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, signaling a collision of streetwear and architectural icons. It was a wink to the brand’s evolution from cult backpack disruptor to global tastemaker.

As the last model disappeared, a choir dressed in pure white emerged, their harmonies floating above the crowd while Sandflower returned to perform her track “I Can’t Stop.” Models swirled around her in a euphoric finale, and then—boom—giant cannons erupted, showering the audience in gold confetti.

Fifteen years in, Sprayground proves it’s still a predator of the unexpected. This was more than an anniversary; it was a manifesto of maximalism, a love letter to chaos, and a reminder that fashion’s beating heart belongs to those unafraid to roar. London wanted drama, and Sprayground delivered it in sharks, teddies, and glittering gold.

Chaos as Liberation: Deki Alem’s Electrifying Debut Demands Surrender

+ MUSIC

By Tamia Berenice                                   24 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

Some albums arrive like polite introductions. Forget In Mass kicks the door down and dares you to dance through the chaos. The debut from Gothenburg twins Sammy and Johnny Boakye Bennett—collectively Deki Alem—is a hypnotic manifesto where trip-hop haze collides with punk’s gnarl and the adrenal rush of a warehouse rave.

Born in the uneasy stillness of the pandemic, Deki Alem forged their sound with collaborators Richard Zastenker and Johannes Klahr, chasing connection when the world felt fractured. That urgency pulses through every track: this is music meant to pull strangers into the same fluctuating orbit, a reminder that community can bloom in the outskirts of normality where the unexpected appears.

Opening cut “Fun” sets the agenda with cyber-futuristic synths, breakneck drum and bass, and lyrics that slice at society’s cult of self-optimization. “That doesn’t sound like fun to me,” the brothers sneer, turning rebellion into a hook you can’t shake. “House Fire” smolders next, hypnotic and slightly detuned, its Beat-poet lyricism unraveling over a beat that feels one spark away from total combustion. By “Personal Disorder,” the album’s shadowy midpoint, the duo drags you deeper, layering trip-hop grooves pulling the audience into a seductive spiral.

The back half doesn’t exhale so much as reshape the tension. “Lucky Wheel” and “Stray Dog” flirt with moodier, downtempo textures without losing bite, while “Tip Of Your Tongue” spits its truths with clenched-fist precision beat. By the end, “Mr Man” quiet rap leaves embers glowing—a slow burn that lingers like a final, defiant stare.

What makes Forget In Mass exhilarating isn’t just the genre-bending alchemy, it’s the intention. Every distorted note feels meticulously chaotic, a paradox that embodies Deki Alem’s core message: liberation lives in disorder. Their delivery isn’t polished for mass consumption; it’s a call to shed societal sedation and give in to the primal need to move, sweat, and feel. Get rid of the norms and jump outside the system for a moment.

On stage, the duo has already earned a reputation as Sweden’s on the rise musicians, and this record captures that live-wire danger. As their European headline tour ignites in Berlin on October 29 passing through Europe's top cities, expect nights where genre evaporates and instinct takes over.

Forget In Mass isn’t background music—it’s a full-body experience. Deki Alem aren’t here to soundtrack your day; they’re here to derail it, beautifully.

Electric Love Awakens: Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Fearless Frankenstein Rebirth

+ CULTURE & ART

By Tamia Berenice                                   24 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

She’s alive, and she’s rewriting the rules. Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride isn’t just a monster movie—it’s a high-voltage collision of fashion, fury, and forbidden love. Warner Bros. has unveiled the first trailer, and it’s a crackling manifesto of cinematic style.

Set against a smoky 1930s Chicago, the story follows a lonely Frankenstein (Christian Bale, cloaked in sculpted shadows) as he seeks out the eccentric Dr. Euphronius. Together, they dare to resurrect a murdered young woman, birthing Jessie Buckley’s magnetic Bride. But this creation refuses to remain anyone’s experiment. What begins as an act of desperate companionship erupts into a combustible romance, a police hunt, and a radical social movement—one that feels thrillingly modern beneath its period glamour.

Gyllenhaal draws sparks from James Whale’s classic Bride of Frankenstein and the raw power of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel, but her vision is fiercely her own. Buckley’s Bride isn’t a trembling victim; she’s a lightning rod of desire and defiance, a muse for rebellion wrapped in couture danger. Bale’s monster, meanwhile, pulses with tragic elegance, a hulking figure aching for connection yet terrified of what love might unleash.

The supporting cast reads like a fever-dream guest list: Penélope Cruz as the enigmatic Myrna, Annette Bening in a role shrouded in intrigue, Peter Sarsgaard, Julianne Hough, and Jake Gyllenhaal himself. Behind the camera, the pedigree is equally intoxicating. Cinematographer Lawrence Sher (Joker) promises shadow-drenched beauty, while costume legend Sandy Powell (Cinderella) is poised to lace every frame with tailored anarchy. Production designer Karen Murphy (Elvis) builds a Chicago where industrial grit meets art-deco decadence—a playground for both romance and revolution.

For Gyllenhaal, The Bride marks a bold second act after her Oscar-nominated debut The Lost Daughter. If that film hinted at her fascination with complex femininity, this one screams it from a lightning tower. Buckley, who starred in Gyllenhaal’s first feature, once again becomes her co-conspirator, embodying a heroine who is equal parts danger and delight.

And while Gyllenhaal’s monster rises, the Frankenstein arms race is on. Guillermo del Toro readies his own Netflix adaptation with Jacob Elordi, Oscar Isaac, and Mia Goth. But it’s The Bride, arriving in theaters March 6, 2026, that currently crackles with the most seductive voltage.

This isn’t just a resurrection. It’s a revolution in silk and scars—a love story stitched from power, passion, and the kind of beauty that terrifies as much as it mesmerizes. Gyllenhaal doesn’t just bring her Bride to life; she dresses her for a coup.

Mulberry Revives Iconic Roxanne It-Bag for Fall 2025

+ FASHION

16 September 2025            Online Fashion and Art Magazine

If you were tuned into the Y2K It-bags, this name will spark instant fashion memory: Roxanne. Worn by Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, and Mary-Kate Olsen back when low-rise jeans ruled and eyeliner went unapologetically bold, this Mulberry leather shoulder bag was pure obsession. It was loved, hunted, and treasured. This Fall, Roxanne is back, reclaiming its spot as the ultimate It-bag.

The OG Roxanne carried that rebellious slouch and hidden architecture: 44 individual pattern pieces, sewn together by expert hands. Buckles, straps, and attitude—punk without shouting, luxury without trying. The perfect balance of craftsmanship and style, it captured the essence of the 2000s. With the Y2K revival in full swing, its comeback feels inevitable.

For 2025, Mulberry isn’t just hitting repeat—it’s reworking the script. On one side, The Roxanne and Small Roxanne hold onto their 2004 DNA: iconic proportions, signature hardware, that tension between structure and ease. Both can be worn on the shoulder or crossbody, because in today’s world, functionality is part of luxury.

But there are fresh twists built for a faster agenda. The Roxanne Shoulder Bag and the Mini Roxanne Shoulder Bag slim things down: lighter, more compact, perfect for those who want the look without the weight. They keep Mulberry’s codes—noble textures, refined finishes, statement hardware—while pushing them into hyper-wearable formats that transition seamlessly from morning coffee to evening plans.

The color palette is fully Fall-ready: think deep browns, sleek blacks, perhaps a bottle green or a burgundy glowing under afternoon light. Shades that anchor wardrobes and pair with wool, leather, denim, or that jacket you pull out every September.

Why does this return matter? Because Roxanne embodies an idea of honest luxury: visible craftsmanship (those 44 pieces don’t hide), design with a clear voice, and an attitude that ages gracefully. It’s fashion with memory, yes—but also with presence. It works with bodycon tees and pencil skirts, with sharp blazers and tall boots, with wide-leg jeans and a borrowed men’s shirt. It works because it has personality.

If you’re looking for an investment piece with history that won’t just sit on a shelf, this is your sign. Roxanne is back to remind us that a bag can be a statement, a style map, and a manifesto for how we want to dress now: unhurried, intentional, with pieces that speak for us.

The full lineup—The Roxanne, Small Roxanne, Roxanne Shoulder Bag, and Mini Roxanne Shoulder Bag—is now available in seasonal colorways. Head over to Mulberry’s website and see how the most iconic It-bag of the 2000s is rewriting its story in 2025.

Giorgio Armani Dies at 91, Legacy of Eternal Elegance

+ FASHION

By Manu de Coco                 04 September 2025 / Online Fashion and Art Magazine

The fashion world bids farewell to one of its greatest visionaries: Giorgio Armani, the Italian designer who redefined elegance with architectural precision, has died at 91 in his Milan home. His passing closes an era in which fashion became a universal language of sophistication, restraint, and power.

Born in 1934 in Piacenza, Armani grew up in a postwar Italy marked by austerity. This atmosphere likely shaped his sensitivity to essentials. After briefly pursuing medicine and serving in the military, he discovered his calling while designing displays at La Rinascente, Milan’s famed department store. There, he realized his true instruments were scissors and fabric rather than a scalpel.

In 1975, alongside Sergio Galeotti, Armani debuted as an independent designer. While Paris fashion leaned into haute couture excess, Armani proposed something radical: unstructured suits, softened shoulders, neutral tones. He rejected artifice in favor of authenticity. This revolution earned him the title “King Giorgio,” the designer who proved that elegance could be both sober and magnetic.

His breakthrough moment came in 1980 with American Gigolo. Richard Gere, dressed head-to-toe in Armani, embodied a new vision of masculinity: seductive, powerful, yet effortless. Executives from Wall Street to Hollywood craved his suits, garments that projected authority without stiffness. Armani was not just dressing people—he was shaping a lifestyle.

The 1990s cemented his cultural reach. Julia Roberts in Armani at the Oscars, Jodie Foster in his designs, and countless red carpet appearances made him Hollywood’s go-to designer. His empire expanded beyond clothing: Armani Privé in couture, Armani Exchange for younger audiences, Armani Casa in interiors. Each division reflected the same credo—luxury rooted in timelessness.

Armani’s life was marked by discipline and discretion. Unlike contemporaries consumed by scandal, he remained private, devoted entirely to his work. His daily uniform—a navy T-shirt and impeccable trousers—was itself a statement: his focus was never self-display but the craft of design.

His legacy reshaped both men’s and women’s fashion. Armani freed women from rigid tailoring, giving them power suits that balanced strength with grace. He offered men refined silhouettes that radiated authority without excess. He demonstrated that simplicity and innovation can coexist, setting a blueprint followed by generations.

Today, Milan mourns its most famous son, but his influence is visible everywhere: in boutiques that embody minimal elegance, in every jacket cut with effortless flow. His house now faces the task of preserving a philosophy built not on noise, but on harmony.

Armani’s final lesson is clear: fashion, at its highest form, is an act of respect—for the body, for life. Though his chair at the Armani Teatro sits empty, his spirit endures. Each time a gown shines without ostentation or a suit moves with grace, Giorgio Armani lives on as the eternal symbol of serene perfection.
